Love this matchup. Hopefully Miami wins.
September 2nd, 2018 at 8:08 PM ^
kind of refreshing to watch execution on the offensive side of the ball even if it's two teams i dont care about ya know?
September 2nd, 2018 at 8:31 PM ^
Execution? Are you watching the game? Dropped balls, no running game, frequent pressure, many penalties...execution is the last word I would describe what I am watching.
September 2nd, 2018 at 8:48 PM ^
Maybe he saw the guillotine on the sideline.
September 2nd, 2018 at 8:16 PM ^
He was definitely in the forward throwing motion
September 2nd, 2018 at 8:30 PM ^
Burrow does not look good.
September 2nd, 2018 at 8:36 PM ^
But he's got an adequate line, talented RBs and decent D.
He just needs to be an intelligent game manager.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:13 PM ^
I missed the beginning. The LSU offense is looking good now.
September 4th, 2018 at 9:17 AM ^
First year starters starting in that environment for their first game on a big stage against a quality opponent for the first game of the season no less against a team with a half a dozen future NFL starters per the pundits, don't usually look good. The U was bringing the pressure on nearly every down as well trying to rattle said first year starter, is what good DC. LSU adjusted for that hence the long run for the TD.
You had to be impressed with Burrow getting the U's DL to jump off sides twice in the first half keeping drives alive? Plus i don't think he had any TO's. The long pass he threw @ the pylon was probably a TD, good pass imo. He's in the same boat as Shea, new teammates, new coaching staff, new playbook without the benefit of spring practice BTW. That's a lot to digest in 4 weeks. Just like Shea, they should improve week to week as the season progresses.

So this is what real football looks like?
September 2nd, 2018 at 8:44 PM ^
This is what real football look like. None of that 7 on7 stuff. They are actually playing defense. Also, LSU has highly ranked Olineman and Burrows is getting hit a lot.
September 2nd, 2018 at 8:51 PM ^
username checks out
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:14 PM ^
Yep, that's real football. Teams that are actually ready for a real game.
September 2nd, 2018 at 8:33 PM ^
Nice run. Kid's got explosion.
September 2nd, 2018 at 8:37 PM ^
Imagine your team being so loaded that your 3rd string QB, who never saw the field, is now starting at a school like LSU.
September 2nd, 2018 at 8:53 PM ^
Imagine the quarterbacks who've been on your team for several years being coached enough to play for the team instead of having transfers come in because the quarterbacks who've been recruited and coached aren't good enough to start for some reason. I'm still struggling to get my mind around that tbh.
The quarterback whisperer in Michigan? Mark Dantonio
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:06 PM ^
Harbaugh got here in 2015 too late to recruit a QB in first class. He was left Speight and Bellamy. Bellamy then left. He brought in O’Korn and Rudock as stop gaps. JOK being so poor set this program back. Speight was an average talent who was solid as a starter his first season.
His first recruited QB is a sophomore. He hasn’t progressed. That happens. He then brought in a more proven commodity as a transfer and a top talent both of whom looked solid Saturday.
September 3rd, 2018 at 2:45 AM ^
Again, people qucikly forget how shitty the cupboard was, and what a dumpster fire our losses and MAC teams taking us to the wire was.
Harbaugh simply over-acheived in year 1 and 2. And he was rightly given a lot of credit.
However, the lack of OL recruiting/development absolutley falls on Harbaugh--at it's a major L--also, not yet having a 230lb smash-mouth RB (let alone a stable of them) is also extremely disappointing. The WRs are fine (Black injury certainly hurst, TEs too, Defense has been a strong-point as whole. RB, QB, and OL have been disappointing (so basically the offense).
QBs are worth their weight in gold (hell even the NFL can't manage more than 10-15ish good QBs at any one time), so if Peters is a bust but McCaffrey turns out, then he's still batting way above average (think of how many long-tenured coaches have QBs go down and subsequently tank the season).
It's still on the OL, and the real anger/frustration stems from the doubt that OLs suddenly fix themselves (though it has been known to happen).
September 2nd, 2018 at 8:49 PM ^
Can we trade with LSU?
September 2nd, 2018 at 8:52 PM ^
FWIW- this is a rare game where both teams uniforms are of complementary colors.
When I was in NO earlier this year I was surprised to see zero interest in the Tigers- every sign, sticker, shirt was about the Saints. I wonder if anyone down there is even watching this game.
LSU does look better- maybe the LSU coach/Brady Hoke comparisons are off the mark.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:38 PM ^
Brady Hoke with more talent.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:00 PM ^
Is anyone else worried that a QB that couldn’t sniff the field for Ohio State, is now starting for LSU seems to be doing pretty well against a decent defense in Miami?
How much better was Haskins than Burrow for the latter to leave his childhood team?
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:04 PM ^
Haskins is one of the most gifted passers that I've seen in a long time at the college level. When he makes a decision to throw the ball up and out of his hand in no time as well
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:39 PM ^
Haskins is going to destroy our d. Just accept that now.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:46 PM ^
I think LSU made a mistake. Time will tell.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:02 PM ^
Fire Mark Richt his team is getting blown out they gonna lose by 40.
He's awful and they are overrated no chance they win the ACC this year. Preseason National title hype pfff
/s
sounds like every thread here
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:09 PM ^
I like this game. Both sides uniforms look cool. And it's nice to see LSU's offense, it has cadence to it. Who would of thought that would be seen in LSU's offense. But then also, Miami lost a lot of players this off season.Cadence in an offense is nice to see because I haven't seen cadence in Michigan's offense since Jedd Fisch.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:10 PM ^
Well, blowout LSU is on
This one is over early
rooting for LSU!
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:10 PM ^
Miami is getting their shit packed in...Cajun Brady Hoke is doing pretty good
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:10 PM ^
LSU looks goooood. A little sloppy early, but that D.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:13 PM ^
This weekend has really demonstrated how asinine it is that there are preseason rankings that are actually posted on the scores during the week one games. Make the rankings after week one. Even if everyone knows they are meaningless until the CFP ranking, it's just a lame hype tool. Also can we unpin the snowflake threads? Does anyone really want to look at that garbage anymore?
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:14 PM ^
Thank you Miami for getting killed this weekend!
Michigan's ranking should stand pat after losing by 7 on the road.
Should be in the top 10 against the Badgers.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:15 PM ^
I still think Miami will win this game
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:19 PM ^
I'll mail you a crisp $1 bill if you're right.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:19 PM ^
FBI has a significant reward on you...please include your current return address k thx~
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:27 PM ^
It'll be from Sam Gerrard's address. We live together now.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:27 PM ^
Miami apparently doesn't want to win this game based on these retarded penalties...sounds familiar!
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:30 PM ^
That was a error by the official on the first running into the kicker penalty. Miami should've had the ball at the 35-40 with plenty of time to try to get a score
September 2nd, 2018 at 10:17 PM ^
Yes, now all the MSSN can talk about how much Miami sucks instead of Michigan.
September 2nd, 2018 at 10:21 PM ^
We're going to drop a few spots.
We looked like stale ass for the majority of that game. But I agree, we can climb back to #10ish with 5 impressive wins.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:15 PM ^
Michigan-Miami Pinstripe Bowl confirmed.
September 2nd, 2018 at 10:12 PM ^
I think we can beat flash-in-the-pan Miami.
Unless we crap our pants late in the game, a la USCe/Outback Bowl.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:26 PM ^
Miami kind of sort of started strong and then....well.....they are probably going to the half down 24.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:29 PM ^
Miami should also apparently just play their young offensive linemen and hope for the best. They got worked.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:31 PM ^

September 2nd, 2018 at 9:43 PM ^
Buck heads might regret letting Burrow get away.
September 2nd, 2018 at 9:57 PM ^
No. Burrow is good but Haskins is a special talent. Buckeye fans are excited to see Burrow get the start for LSU though.
September 3rd, 2018 at 9:03 AM ^
When I read this post, I assumed the post meant:
OSU gave LSU a smart QB who can manage the game and make some plays. The way LSU played last night, they could make the playoffs (yes I know its early) because they have a decent QB to go with a solid ground game, good O-Line, athletes all over the place, and a very good defense. That could come back to bite OSU in a playoff scenario.
September 2nd, 2018 at 10:15 PM ^
Game ova.
