Denard: Top 10 in tackles for Jax
OK, after this past weekend we all need a laugh. I was poking through the box score of the Denver - Jacksonville game. I noticed that Denard got his usual one carry (for two yards) and no catches.
Have Denard in the game for more than one play a week and get the ball to him! For a team that can't get out of its own way, you would think a competant OC would try something different. Maybe there is hope for Borges after he leaves Ann Arbor.
Anyhow, getting back to my point, the defensive statistics caught my eye - D. Robinson is listed with a solo tackle. That places him squarely in the top ten in tackles for the Jags. They will have to change his Offensive Weapon moniker to Offensive-Defensive Weapon if this keeps up (yeah, I know they were forced to change the OW position, but never let facts get in the way of a good story).

Here are the season stats for Jacksonville -

A fair number of their RBs and WRs actually register in the defensive stats. A few even have several tackles on the year, or at least, more than you think offensive players would have the opportunity to make.

That's to be expected with a turnover machine like Gabbert. Seven INTs in 86 attempts? Slightly worse than Garners 10 INTs in 146 attempts and Morris' 1 pick in six attempts.

Do they also play on special teams? They could be getting some of their tackles there.

is beyond me...just for a change of pace at least...less opptys for the pass pro to not break down and result in sacks and INTS...the other team would actually have to prepare for it as well...what a waste of a real talent in Denard...

We need to fire up JetTracker to see if Al Borges moonlights in Jacksonville every Sunday.

Came on a punt return where I believe Denver fumbled and recoverd their own fumble. Or maybe it was a partially blocked punt - although that wasn't in the box score. I hate myself, so I watched the Jaguars play live and I remember it being a strange play becuase he came from off the screen to make the tackle.

I'm 95% sure that the tackle came on a fake punt by Denver. Denard was lined up in a safety like position (behind everyone else, but not back as the return man). The fake punt was a direct snap to an up man who immediately ran to his left. They got the first down, but Denard was there FAST with a solid, solid tackle.
I remember it because I was watching RedZone channel and watched the play a couple of times. The reason I'm not 100% sure is that there were a couple of guys in there and it is possible they didn't credit Denard in the stats.
