OT: Arkansas Recruit's Mother Runs Away With His Letter Of Intent
This years crazy signing day story belongs to the mother of Plantation,FL RB Alex Collins. Apparently, shortly before Alex was to fax in his LOI to Arkansas, his Mother took them and ran away with them, and no one knows her whereabouts.

I apologize for the link, I don't know how to fix it. If a mod, or a more learned person in this process could help, that would be great.

When you're posting there's a button in the last box above the text box that allows links to be posted. It looks like a chain link with a blue circle on top. Click on it and cut and past the url .

I appreciate the help.

Alex and his dad sent in another letter to Arkansas.
But wait...
His mom hired Johnnie Cochran's law firm.......
I feel this story isn't going to be one we're forgetting for a while.

That story must've been written by the UM beat writer. "He planned on signing with Arkansas, but he didn't." - Interesting way of putting it that his batshit insane mother wouldn't let him.

She probably thinks John L Smith is still the coach. If Smith was still the coach, I can't blame her.

Some parents just don't know how to let their children grow up. This is an extreme case, but university administrators and advisors run into interference by parents somewhat regularly. Such parents don't listen to their child and insist they know what's best and want to continue acting like they;re signing their kid up for elementary school.

allegedly?
February 7th, 2013 at 9:09 AM ^
...proven.
While it has been alledged that CRAIG JAMES KILLED FIVE HOOKERS AT SMU, it is proven that he smothered his son to the point of getting Texas Tech's head coach fired. That exact sequence of events may be more alledged than proven, but the slightly over protective nature of his behavior is not.

keep some antibacterial wipes in The Resolute Desk (Oval Office) to flush the DNA. Dresses only preserve the evidence.
Oh, and I never believed that YOU KILLED FIVE HOOKERS anyway.

Nice try, imposter. Read my tagline and my username. My full legal name has no underscore in it, obviously. Stop holding yourself out to be me or I'm going to sue you. And trust me . . . I have many very powerful attorneys on retainer and at my disposal.

Don't you know what happens to bitches that don't know how to keep their mouths shut around Craig James? Allegedly, nothing at all.
Man, parents. "I know what I want to do!" "Well, good, but forget it. You'll do what I want you to do, and that's final."
February 7th, 2013 at 10:13 AM ^
...said Craig James as he suffocated #5.
Allegedly.
February 7th, 2013 at 11:46 AM ^
That's just not true. I never suffocated her. I . . . wait . . . NICE TRY! I did not allegedly kill her!

How many Craig James variant accounts are there on MGoBlog?!
February 7th, 2013 at 3:00 PM ^
Well, considering I'm the alleged real one, I'm even more puzzled than you. I mean, how would people know that my SSN is 123-45-6789. OOPS! Quick, mods, please delete this comment!

Let's see, there's a Craig James account, then there's a Craig_James account . . . oh, and I believe RDT has a Craig James account too.

I am as happy as anyone to see Bielema lose a recruit. I intensely dislike the guy. But that is just wrong for a mother to not let her child make the best decision for his own future. Something seems more than a little amiss here.

This thread makes me want to get up and go visit my mom at the Women's State Correctional Facility. Poor Mom, she was always doing crazy things like hanging out with 800 lbs gorillas and having fake relationships with ND players. To this day Brady Quinn still thinks I'm his step brother.
February 7th, 2013 at 9:20 AM ^
His mom had just opened yesterday's mail and got the cashier's check from ole miss. She just didn't have time to tell him before he went out the door... so she had to pull off some hijinks.

"“I would prefer him to go to Miami, too, because it would be a better program for him, a better environment. He could get home faster and it’s more convenient if Mom wants to go to a game — instead of having to fly to Arkansas.’’ - Collins' older brother
It's sad that what is lost on his mother, and to some extent his own brother, is that Alex is the one that will actually be playing football here, and you would think that he would be allowed to make the decision about which program suits him best and regardless of the relative convenience to his family - after all, it's a scholarship. Perhaps ironically, his mother now seems like a fairly good reason to choose Arkansas on top of everything else.
February 7th, 2013 at 9:57 AM ^
I also have to wonder what kind of uniformed parent would want their kid to go to Miami right now. Golden is a good coach, but the NCAA is about to drop the hammer on them for the Shapiro stuff.

Maybe not given the impropriety of the investigative staff. Paying for the guy's defense attorney?

he wants to put some distance between himself and his over-bearing mother. Her very response reinforces his choice, IMO.

The name of the city is Plantation...?
February 7th, 2013 at 10:46 AM ^
And it surprisingly isn't the most racist city in South Florida. That would be the wonderful city of Davie where I went to high school. You can actually pretend you're in Texas in the 1800s. Not that I'd recommend this, I got the hell out of there ASAP.

Did she run through the "Dong Forest" during here getaway?
Did she show great stright line speed, lateral speed or both?
I'll hang up and listen.
February 7th, 2013 at 1:38 PM ^
You should have seen the move she put on to get out the door
February 7th, 2013 at 1:14 PM ^
She was probably going to get a huge chunk of money from Miami once he signed with them. I dont blame her.
February 7th, 2013 at 2:46 PM ^
It's not what you think at all. It's just that she once had Chlamydia. She doesn't want her son to have to suffer through the agony of hot piss.
February 7th, 2013 at 3:08 PM ^
Though my first thought is to laugh and say, "good parents don't let their kids go to Arkansas," this helicopter mom is causing her kid a lot of embarrassment. If it was me, I'd sign with a west coast school to get farther away from her.
