Nick Sheridan Moving Up Coaching Ladder
Former Michigan QB Nick Sheridan has been QB Coach/Passing Game Coordinator at Western Kentucky since 2011, and with Willie Taggert taking over at USF he's brought Sheridan with him.
From Footballscoop:
South Florida: Willie Taggart announced via press release this afternoon that Walt Wells and Nick Sheridan will join from Western Kentucky. Wells will serve as offensive coordinator / offensive line coach and Sheridan will serve as quarterbacks / passing game coordinator.
Congrats to Nick.

Cake or death?

Cake, please.

You shall have CAKE!

You said death first!

"Or death"?

Please.

The cake is a lie

He very well may not = death in coaching, but I'm not sure he can retroactively not be death as a QB. Definitely happy to see him doing well as a coach

Unlikely.

Coach Death maybe?
December 21st, 2012 at 3:47 AM ^
He was "death" on the field, but I have never seen anyone here write that he would be anything but a great coach when his "playing" days were over. Sheridan was always a guy whose brain and heart were a fuck of a lot bigger and stronger than his arm and legs.
Nobody is surprised that he is moving up the ladder. It was all but a "given" to anyone who watched him or knew his history.

I know it's against your nature to respond, but what's the deal with all of the "unnecessary quotes" the past few months?
December 21st, 2012 at 9:17 AM ^
He must still be "sleeping", Shirtless. Otherwise, "I'm sure" the would have "answered" you. Unless the "Mayan Prophecy" got to his "side of the world" first.

how much is a "fuck of a lot"? can you provide a conversion into assloads or at least fuck tons?
December 21st, 2012 at 11:19 AM ^
Right between Fuckload and Shit ton.

Well done Nick.
I really hope he becomes a successful big time coach so that he can experience fame on the other side of the spectrum.
December 20th, 2012 at 11:30 PM ^
I'll always root for him. He was put into a terrible situation at UM.
December 21st, 2012 at 12:09 AM ^
like being told the pass the ball deep in their own end, late in the half vs. teams like Utah and Penn State... instead of just kneeling on it... he threw in to coverage and was picked...yeah he threw it, but the coaches kept callin that shit.

May be he'll take over for Borg....kidding guys! Just jokes!
That's great for him. Had a class with him back in the glory days. Seemed like a good kid. Happy he's seeing success in the coaching ranks.

Wow, pretty damn impressive to be a D1 coordinator at that age, even if it is only co-coordinator. Here's hoping he becomes QB coach here in a few years, or even OC.
December 20th, 2012 at 11:43 PM ^
I'm thinking Loeffler might be somewhere in the mix before Sherridan.
Regardless, it's outstanding to see the kid having success in coaching. Congrats, Nick!

I'm not sure about that. Loeffler was a disaster at Auburn. It was probably a bad move for him to begin with, to jump on that sinking ship. The next couple of years will be interesting for Loeffler, as he'll need to re-establish his reputation (to an extent). I'm sure he'll get a chance somewhere.

There is not a chance in hell Lefty would ever be hired by this regime of Michigan coaches.
Not over Dave Brandon's dead body too for that matter.

And why is that?

Still a little early to call it, but if he does well at USF and Borges doesn't work out, it might be a worthwhile investment. I'd prefer someone a little more established (like Stanford's OC), but if Sheridan is the rising star, we should get him before someone else does.

With all due respect, this is a pretty dumb thing to say. Especially when quoting the ever so wise "they".
What? I said with all due respect....

That's the way it is in my book. Right on, brother.

as someone in the field of education, i concur with MCalibur -- it's a dumb thing to say.
for example, there's tons of prof's out there who can "do" just fine and yet couldn't teach a fish to swim.
just because there's a dearth of outstanding teachers out there doesn't mean anyone can stand up and do it well.

as someone in the field of educationI thought you were in the field of Chicago sausages, your majesty.
December 21st, 2012 at 12:59 AM ^
i don't limit myself to sausage making. i believe sausage education is an important subject for youth today, as are all the sausage arts -- sausage sculpture, sausage philosphy, and sausage R&D. needless to say, it's not easy being king. some punk last week even tried to steal my identity...

their whole lives to be able to put their M-go moniker to as good of use as you just did. maybe like an asteroid belt it won't happen again for 1000 years, but at least it happened once. you always knew ferris bueller was a classic....

it was a joke. As an instructor who chose this field because it was something I wanted to do, not because of incompetence in other money-making fields, this is something repeated quite frequently among my colleagues - as a joke. Meanwhile, this moronic little aphorism has some truth to it, because it is easier to teach if the subject is something you struggle with yourself. Have you ever tried to learn something from someone who understands the concept naturally <- very difficult. Try not to take things so personally. By the way, the moronic little aphorism "I want to take a massive dump on people..." makes you sound like a 15 year old boy.

Nick always seemed like a really good guy and loved being a Wolverine. Glad to see him finding success in life.

Nick Sheridan > Nick Saban

I want to see Sheridan on the field at one of the alumni flag football games before some random spring game.

Nick Sheridan is a Wolverine that will never be rememebered.. But somebody had to be the QB during that year. I wish Sheridan the best and hopefully see him on the sideline soon!
