OT: How is everyone's NCAA 13 dynasty going?
It's slow enough and I figured there'd be some cool stories. I'm Michigan, just finished my first season. I went 14-0 beating Oregon in the title game. It was 1. Wisconsin vs 2. Michigan in the BTC game. Montee Ball won the Heisman with Denard second. I'm really enjoying recruiting and have the #1 class.
How is your dynasty going?
For those of you wondering about the B1G online dynasty, I can't start it for some reason so Son of Lloyd Brady (xIcEaGeNiCkKaX) will host it. Here are the members:
Blake Countess is a monster for me, so I gave him the #2 for his junior year. #1 and #16 will be the others that have to be earned for me.
I dont know if this is your problem or not but you cannot be a commissioner of two online dynastys at the same time. I think this is really stupid but thats how the game "works".
That must be what it is. I have a superconference dynasty as well. Sadface.
As O-coordinator, went 13-0 1st season, 10-3 2nd, now I'm O-coordinator at Cincinatti, working my way towards the coveted U-M head coaching job. I still love the carousel feature.
The game freezes after a few weeks, so I haven't been able to get through even half of a season. Piece of crap, but EA already has my money.
I am playing Dynasty right now and really enjoying it. Today, I was at Norte Dame and the game kept freezing while loading. It did this 3 times in a row so I was going to just sim through the week and pick it up from there.
I decided to give the ND game one more shot but before starting it up, I switched the jerseys for both teams to the Under The Lights jersey. That got the game to load and I would go on to beat ND 21-7 with Fitz picking up 70 rush, 30 receiving and 2 TDs (both rush).
Might be worth trying to switch the jerseys before you start a week that freezes for you.
I read on operationsports.com (GREAT sports gaming website, btw) that there's an issue where, if you haven't finished your weekly recruiting yet (as in, did some, saved, then turned the system off/rebooted) and NOT played the game yet that the game will freeze when you try to go into it. The fix is to go into recruting; sometimes just entering the menu makes it work, sometimes you have to reorder recruits/move someone on or off the board. Stupid, but that's what's been figured out so far.
My Dynasties have been fine when they're in progress, the problem is that it won't load the first game when I come back to it. I do all of my recruiting before I play the games and I have fiddled with the jerseys, but to no avail. The only thing that works is simply advancing the week without playing the game, which is beyond stupid, but it works. Lately, I just make sure I finish a Dynasty session in a week where I play a weak team and pray that the computer simulation comes out in my favor.
Otherwise, I will stick with '12. Oh, and the scouting mode for recruiting? Helpful or overkill?
I might have to rent it and check it out.
Like it so far. Just went 14-0 and won the NC title my first year as UM over USC. None of my players won the Heisman but had the most 1st teams All Americans. Played on Heisman.
I love the new recruiting though. Much more in depth and much more fun.
I beat Alabama 34-0 in the first game, that was sufficient enough for me to leave for a wedding over the weekend. My main challenge of the first season will be to reel in Shane Morris (The self-created #3 QB prospect), surprisingly, he isn't that high on U of M.
Gonna be tough as I have to completely overhaul the team, especially the lines.
I'm (FuosuGoBlue) going to have to back out, I hope you can find a replacment.
So far 10-0 on all American mode. Denard is leading for the Heisman.
Countess and Gallon have been studs for me. Gallon is the leading receiver in the country.
Enjoying the new recuiting format. Pulling the number be class at the moment but that is on Varsity level.
Wishing that I had online capabilities to play with mgoblog!
What rosters are you guys using? I've found a couple that are ok but not good.
So far really good! I'm 5-0 with the top recruiting class so far. Denard is starting to pick it up after a tough outing against Bama which we won 17-14 (he did have the go-ahead rushing TD with less than 3 minutes to go).
I'm playing with a downloaded roster from MaizenBlue13 which I really enjoy. I changed a couple of the stats but nothing major.
The updates to recruiting are great and I'm a fan of them. I especially like the scouting feature and can change some recruits into a bust, really makes you think about pressing hard for certain commits.
One grip is that there are way too many replays and game breaks. Now I enjoy them but just they can slow down a game especially when you are running an up tempo offense.
I might be interested in starting up an online dynasty, I've never done one so if there are others who are newbies to the online dynasty, maybe we could start something?
Going well, just finished my first season, won the national title at 14-0 with #1 Michigan, beating #2... Arkansas State. WTF there, made me chuckle. Montee Ball won the Heisman, Denard was second and Fitz was 5th. Had the #1 recruiting class, pulling in the #2 (but highest overall rated) QB. About to start the second season, put USC as my first game due to some recruit promises, and playing Texas (#4) in the 3rd game of the season. Should be fun.
And I convinced Lewan to stay, somehow. Excellent.
I really like that the zone read actually works now. Plus, you can slow the gameplay speed down in one of the options which makes it play more like Madden. It's not without it's problems, but this game is a vast improvement to last year's.
I'm starting one tonight. custom conferences so be who you want. Michigan is available.
I usually run an online dynatsy with about 8 other people every year. But until the OS rosters are complete I run offline dynasty. I play with 7 minute qtrs on heisman with heisman recruiting difficulty and game speed on slow/very slow. Gives me pretty realistic #'s across the board.
First year I finished with one loss (Iowa) and beat down missouri in the bowl game. Second year I made a brutal schedule @ USC, @ #19 ND, @ #5 FSU, @ AZ, first 4 games. Wisc ranked #4, Spart #18, Iowa #23, OSU unranked. My defense is a B- now because im stock piling talent and most of them I redshirted.
I play exclusively with the MLB or FS EVERY PLAY, through the 4 games I've played in season two Joe Bolden has 36 TKLS, 28 SOLO, 9 TFL, 2 SCKS and 2 FF. I run a 3-4 /4-3 custom playbook. Touss has 60 CAR, 367 YDS, 4 TDS. Well on my way to a championship hopefully.
I have a spot open in a PS3 online dynasty. It is a sim style league (no cheese) made up of 2/3/4 prestige teams from the ACC, SEC, and Pac 12. The spot we have opened is in the Pac 12 North (Cal or Oregon State). If interested, email me ([email protected]) and I'll give you more information. We haven't started yet but will be within the next day or two. We are looking for someone who will be committed for the entire release.
My first season was a bit bumpy -- opening game loss to Alabama on a last second hail mary, six week injury to Denard , but bounced back to put a winning streak together. Ended up losing at #1 Wisconsin and at Ohio as well (gave up last minute TD) to finish 9-3. Fitz didn't smell any Heisman or even Walker lover despite going over 2000(!) yards on the season, breaking Biakabutuka's record during the....Outback Bowl.
Which reminds me -- anyone else have weird bowl game choices? Wisconsin was and undefeated #1 most of the season before losing in the Big Ten Championship to Iowa. Iowa goes on to the Rose Bowl, but Wisconsin misses out on an at large berth and gets the Capital One Bowl, bumping me down to Outback. And the national championship game was between 10-2 Oklahoma, and 12-0.....FIU (!?!?!?!). Oklahoma torched them 42-3, and I scheduled FIU this year to see what the fuss was all about.
