Kent State upsets # 1 Florida
12 straight balls...that 9th inning pitching performance just tried to give that game to UF
8th and 9th well hitting a batter also was a bit much . If my calculations are right they threw 20 itches in the 9th and only 5 for strikes, and one was ball four, the other was a bunt that fouled off that was ball four also. I am rooting for Kent State Golden Flashes since I live 10 minutes from the school. Man what a huge win for their team and the MAC.
Where do you live? My son graduated from Kent two years ago and my daughter is a Sr there now.
Ellet a suburb of Akron it is like 4 exits up from where I live. Yeah TJ Sutton went to Glen Oak where his dad was coach but the rest of his family is from Hartville and went to Lake High school where I went. I know his older siblings. So that is pretty cool in itself.
I know Ellet well. I live in Hudson but I've lived in Portage Lakes when I first moved to the area.
Go Flashes!
love meeting or talking too another Wolverine fan who is basically a neighbor. So all I can say now is GO BLUE.
I went to grade school at st Matthews right there next to Ellet high school.
Small world. I'm from Akron, graduated from Firestone. Which also compels me to point out that Ellet isn't a suburb, but part of the city.
of my 31 I lived in Hartville little Amish town so I do apologize for calling Ellet a suburb. But trust me there aren't very many places in Akron you wanna live, but Ellet is one of the nicer spots which could be why I act like its a whole different town lol.
Well I didn't expect you to take my light comment as such an insult, but if you'd get to know the city you wouldn't be so close-minded. I live in Northwest Akron, where there is little crime, and the schools are the highest performing in the district, so maybe try to open your mind a little.
I just moved to Kent (living right off campus) about 3 weeks ago for a Co-Op from June to December and it's cool to see a small local team from your "hometown" doing this well on the big stage. Go Flashes!
I would have to think that Scott Stricklin is the leading candidate for the Michigan job.
I hope your right! My buddy is a big Ohio fan but loves Kent baseball. His head will explode if he leaves Kent for Michigan
can anyone think of any schools that are more baseball-centric than Michigan that are looking for a coach and are (probably) eyeing Stricklin? He's gotta be one of the hottest names in baseball coaching right now, so Michigan might have some competition in signing him. I feel like the longer we go without a coach, the better, because obviously Brandon can't sign Stricklin when he's still coaching, but if it's a couple days after he's done with the season and we still haven't heard anything, it's probably time to worry again...
We're most likely the largest athletic department looking for a baseball coach, so if Brandon has to pony up the cash, he can. That's one thing i like about Brandon he doesn't do a half ass job in looking for coaches, d cordinators etc.
I respect the upset, but still...
Beat Ohio.
Josh Cribbs factor is nice too. He arranged for a bus to take a whole bunch of Kent St fans to Omaha...not sure if he rode the bus or not, but he is a big fan.
with my friends on FaceBook this weekend, Cribbs, Harrison, Gates, Jack Lambert, Thurman Munson, and a few other that I forget all went to Kent State. The school is very well represented for being super small and god awful at football.

This was awesome to take down Florida as a Kent student this is huge for us now all we need is alum Dolph Ziggler to become WWE champion
Everyone out here is psyched because now UCLA is the top ranked team in the tourney (lots of Zona fans out here excited about that game as well).
My wife was so happy to see Kent win that she even had a discussion with me about it (a first, especially about baseball.) Being an Alum she rarely gets to gloat about her alma mater, but since we now live in FLA, she was extra pumped to rub it in to all the SEC and Gator folk. Now ... if the coach will just leave for Michigan.
