Video: Alabama Spring Practice Drills
If you think you're jonesing for spring practice video, welcome to RDT's neighborhood where most people don't have shoes and you get some drills, a scrimmage photo gallery and stats instead of highlights. At least they have a real spring game (I think). Eight days and counting until A-Day in T-Town.
I am impressed.
Saban looked like their best QB.
They look average.
I think this is some Belichickean parody of spring practice. Nick Saban throwing passes in a cowboy hat to receivers running less than half speed?
RDT has to let the Alabama blogosphere know that we Michigan fans are not impressed, based on spring practice drills.
That's how it works, right?
Let's all make assumptions from 2 minutes of spring practice videos! Bama looks horrible, we should win by 3 TDs.
That's the 5 minutes of practice he lets the QBs out, the other hour and fifty five minutes he makes them huddle together in a dark room repeating, "I will not try to be a hero. I will not try to win the game. I will not throw anything other than halfback screens and 10 yard out routes. I am not an important part of the team, I am just a quarterback."
Wow, their pass defense needs a lot of work, and they're QBs totally telegraph every one of their passes. This is going to be a beatdown.
Oh, and it's a good thing they wear full pads... did you see that one time in the first video where the defensive back actually put his hands lightly on the WR?? Someone might have gotten hurt.
It still pisses me off that Saban held their f-ing bowl practices at Dee Hart's high school. That was one hell of a coincidence.
I didn't know that. That's pretty funny actually.
That QB with the broad-rimmed hat has a nice touch on the ball, but I question his mobility.
Also needs a more compact delivery. Looks like Tebow out there.
I hear he's a 27th year Senior.
we are going to kill them.
So, like, when do they get better? Everybody knows they play harder than that. Do they have a cutoff date where they really start practicing?
Once everyone's checks clear they get to work.
These are just the oversigned guys. They may need them, they may not.
I'm disappointed by the lack of Scott Cochran, their trainer. He is the closest thing to Farmer Fran(cajun coach from The Waterboy) in real life college football.
I don't understand the point of this DB drill. It looks like the DBs aren't supposed to actually try to break up the pass . . . so why is Saban throwing the ball? Are they supposed to get such a good jam at the line that the WR can't get to the ball?
That looked like a QB warm up drill. Except for Nick Saban.
Saban has an arm! Not really.
Throw as good when you are 50 will you . . . hmmm?
What's funny is that on RDT's thread, he said bama fans weren't impressed by our spring practice videos. I guess these must impress them. Maybe if our guys were wearing crimson and white they'd be...OFF THE CHAIN!! Saban's throwing windup is almost as explosive as my sister's.
