C'mon, Doug Fister.
Also, regardless of what happens, let this be the ONLY Tigers thread tonight.

Right on the field? Ultimate distraction. I like how you think, sir.

And raise you Michigan Bongo Man.
Are they the same man? Conspiracy?October 11th, 2011 at 9:17 PM ^
Yep, he frequents a lot of Detroit and Ann Arbor sporting events, i think he was even at the end of a (Ford?) commercial at one point. His name is Nahru Lampkin according to a quick Google search.

Let's hope they get it cranking again. It's painful to watch Jackson fan so many times. Maybe the home crowd will get them going. I have no-doubt Fister will pitch good.
Go Tigers!
October 11th, 2011 at 8:05 PM ^
Having Delmon Young's bat out of the lineup hurts, but having Doug Fister's arm on the mound helps.
Tigers will win game 3.
October 11th, 2011 at 8:12 PM ^
ominious start. Two hits on 0-2 counts.
October 11th, 2011 at 8:14 PM ^
Stuck at work, anyone got a stream?
October 11th, 2011 at 8:23 PM ^
Thanks
October 11th, 2011 at 8:20 PM ^
for you, since it's saying I don't a neccassary plugin to check if it is working, but here you go http://www.firstrowsports.tv/watch/85428/1/watch-detroit-tigers-vs-texa…

Yeah I generally try to avoid streams that ask me to download software to enable them.
October 11th, 2011 at 8:35 PM ^
the way this one is starting. Rangers get an early run and the Tigers batters looked pretty bad in the bottom of the 1st. They need a good start tonight.
Seems like the Rangers are getting some seeing eye hits, only one ball was hit hard. The Tigers hitters have to crank it up, and break out of their slumps or this series will over quick.
October 11th, 2011 at 8:36 PM ^
off of Fister were incredibly weakly hit. The way they did score their run is probably not a repeatable skill. Fister looks good so far.
October 11th, 2011 at 8:42 PM ^
concerned with what I have seen out the hitters so far, given the slump most of the lineup is in.
October 11th, 2011 at 8:45 PM ^
Agreed that seein AJack fan for the 20th time this series was discouraging. But it is early, let's keep it optimistic!
October 11th, 2011 at 8:39 PM ^
awkward high five buck
October 11th, 2011 at 8:43 PM ^
You can tell that the crowd has already been taken out of this game. It sounds like the fans are trying to get some chants going, and no one is buying in
October 11th, 2011 at 8:50 PM ^
more guys left on base. That has been the story of the series so far, the Tigers inability to hit with runners on base. Starting to get infuriating at this point.
October 11th, 2011 at 8:49 PM ^
it's...COLBY....LEWIS....start hitting
October 11th, 2011 at 8:52 PM ^
If this line up shows up like it has in the past two games we are done...embarrassing how we can't take advantage of even one of these opportunities.
October 11th, 2011 at 8:52 PM ^
About ready to give up here. We don't swing at pitches right down the middle, and then we chase balls low, inside, outside, high, wherever when we do decide to swing. It's absolutely pathetic.
October 11th, 2011 at 8:52 PM ^
We've got enough green energy from all the wind generated from our swings (and misses) to power most of Montana for a month.
October 11th, 2011 at 8:53 PM ^
Anyone know if there's a plausible alternative to Austin Jackson? I'm not a baseball expert by any means, but it seems to me whatever benefit we get from his legs is offset by his (recent, admittedly) offensive ineptitude.
October 11th, 2011 at 8:55 PM ^
Saw some footage of V. Mart's son during Game 2 coverage. He can switch hit and make solid contact. Really small strike zone, too.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
the season as well. He was either really hot or really cold, not a whole lot of middle ground. I just hope a hot streak is coming soon. Despite his low average and high number of strikeouts during the season he still picked up a ton of extra base hits. I am not going to rail on the guy, he is still only a second year player trying to figure some things out.
And no there isn't a better alternative given the Tiger's injury problems and the fact that Jackson is the team's best defender and is the only guy with good speed on the team.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
trade him this offseason for peter bourjos or denard span. possibly a package of ajax, andy oliver, and bruce rondon for span
October 11th, 2011 at 9:08 PM ^
is still a talented guy with alot of potential and is the most likely the best defensive center fielder in baseball. The guy is only in his second year, let's give him a chance to develop before we talk about trading him.
The better option would be to hold onto Jackson, and look for a more prototypical lead off guy in the offseason at another spot.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:12 PM ^
ajax refuses to dive and peter bourjos is the fastest center fielder in the AL. to go along with that ajax can go from going 4-4 one game then not being able to hit a fucking beach ball for 2 weeks. if there is a guy throwing a fastball over 95 or has any movement forget about it, just have him bunt it and hope he can get on
October 11th, 2011 at 9:19 PM ^
but if you have you should know how good Jackson has been defensively. And none of your points refute what I said about being in his second year and still needing time to develop as player. I won't dispute that Bourjas is the fastest center fielder, but that doesn't mean he is better defensively, there are other things that go into being a fielder besides raw speed.
Bottom line, your overreacting by suggesting that the Tigers trade him after two years in the majors.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:24 PM ^
tigers games and watched ajax save some runs then give some on terrible routes. i watch a few angels games and that guy saved so many runs it's stupid and he is young as well and is a contact hitter
October 11th, 2011 at 9:39 PM ^
estimates that Jackson saved 7.9 runs this year and Bourjous saved 7.5.
October 11th, 2011 at 8:54 PM ^
Fister is being Fister, but the rest of the team is being Gerald Laird.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:04 PM ^
Best line of the night!
October 11th, 2011 at 8:54 PM ^
is picking up cheap hits left and right in this game so far.
October 11th, 2011 at 8:54 PM ^
Dirty texans, trying to trip Peralta...
October 11th, 2011 at 8:56 PM ^
they played great against the yanks but have looked terrible since. cabrera has come up small during the playoffs along with vmart. it's sad that i would rather have don fucking kelly up than cabrera at this point. it seems like cabrera is trying too hard to shoot it the other way when he should be pulling it.

<br>Why do we have a newbie playing?
October 11th, 2011 at 9:02 PM ^
the Tigers have no other choice at this point with the injury situation.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:07 PM ^
I know, im just annoyed because it seems like everyone out there is new to the big leagues
October 11th, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
Holy shit. A base hit from Jackson.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:04 PM ^
right now 2-run dinger
October 11th, 2011 at 9:04 PM ^
he's one of the best CFs in the game. that said, i wish he would learn to bunt with his speed. he never does. at worst, it would bring the corner IFs in, giving him better chance at ground ball hits.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:08 PM ^
He has bunted for BHs at times, but that's really not his game. I'd rather see him gap a ball. But, then again, that would require solid contact.
October 11th, 2011 at 9:05 PM ^
anything near the strike zone but it pisses me off when cabrera watches 2 go right down the middle. SWING THE FUCKING BAT
October 11th, 2011 at 9:06 PM ^
is a damn joke. feldman yesterday, now lewis today. those guys are not good. ridiculous.
