I taught Gach in 7th grade. He didn't start playing football until 8th grade and he is a great kid! An absolute masher on the football field with a huge ceiling, but nicest kid in the world off the field.
I agree..when this scandal first came out and it looked like our program was in serious trouble, my first thought was "Well, I'd rather operate in gray areas than be Penn State." Football is war and there are no sportsmanship trophies. People laughed at us when we lost games, but claimed the moral high ground.
I saw people trash talking us about TCU using our sign stealing against us. I respect their gamesmanship. They countered our punches instead of snitching us to the teacher like Cryin Ryan Day.
Former high school football coach that ran no huddle spread here. I have two problems with the idea that Michigan gained a huge competitive advantage that haven't been mentioned.
1. Play calls often come in seconds before a snap. Was Michigan really coordinated enough that they could a change a play seconds before snap count. Also if OSU knew we were stealing, why didn't they just speed up their snap count?
2. What stops OSU from just waiting for a critical juncture and giving a sign for a run up the middle but letting everyone on the offense know to ignore all signs and throw a wide open PA TD to Harrison Jr? You do that a couple times and Michigan gives up on code breaking.
I'm glad to escape Russell Wilson and bring my Wayne State Warriors back to the Joique Bell era of GLIAC dominance. Thank you, fellow Michigan alums for your support. I hope to make you as proud of me as you were after the 1993 Rose Bowl. Go Blue, Go Warriors!
I've been asking myself what Michigan's ideal recruiting niche is..and I think we are seeing it. A combination of talented recruits that fit our system and actually want to be Michigan Wolverines along with proven players at positions of need from the transfer portal. Recruits come here to compete, get a great education, and win championships. Transfers join a better team, get NFL coaching from the best former NFL coach in the college ranks, and improve their draft stock/ future beyond football. We are almost becoming a college model of the New England Patriots.
It has to be an easy sell in the transfer portal. You have one more year of college before you go pro. Do you want to win a Joe Moore award and a Nattie with JJ, Donavan, Will, etc?
I’ll add..Nick Saban is just as hostile towards the media, but all these reporters bow to him in fear. They feel like they can trash Harbaugh because he struggled to beat Ohio State. All the while cheering for one of the biggest scum bags in coaching, Urban Meyer, who manipulated everyone for his own personal gain.

In Commerce, lake front would be impossible for under a half million, but you could live adjacent to a lake and be part of an association with a community beach. I live on Wolverine Lake..no more fitting place for a Michigan fan and an hour from Toledo.
People think that the drinking and anger make them expert fighters. There is a specific skill set to fighting and drinking and anger impair one's ability to execute..no different than having some beers and thinking you can be Ray Lewis on a football field.
