Dusty May presser May 7, 2024
Sorry if this was already posted, I didnt' see a post near the top of the forum so figured I'd post it up. I haven't watched the entire presser but May does mention early on that Vlad will play 25ish miniutes and Wolf will play 14ish minutes. He says they play uptempo so it's tough to play more minutes. He also says the have one open roster spot they are looking to fill.
Vlad gets 25. Wolf 14. WHO WILL GET THAT ONE REMAINING MINUTE?
Me, Clarence Boddicker. And in that one minute believe that I will go hard in the paint. Just like the song says...
He go hard in the mawfuckin' paint, Nixon!
Not sure if you'll make it to the game since the Tigers may be playing. I mean, you never miss a Tigers game, right?
"Refs don't like me, so I don't like refs." I can't wait for that 60 seconds of pure fun, Clarence
Dusty playing 4d chess w that
Well, if they finish like Juwan's teams there would only really be about 35 minutes total HEYO!!!
oh man, is this team also going to collapse late in every game like Juwan's last few teams? I thought we were past this. DUSTY, DON'T PULL YOUR PLAYERS FOR THE FINAL MINUTE OF THE GAME.
Vlad and Danny have to battle for that last minute. Creating competition. Very Harbaugh-esque.
What an advantage for both players to match up against each other in practice.
As Harbaugh would say.
Iron sharpens Iron.
Or Lloyd-esque, dating back to Brady-Henson. Vlad will play 25, Wolf will play 14, and whoever performs better will get the final minute.
Bench mob! Dusty won’t run up the score late, very classy
Pretty sure it'll be the kid in the Atlanta airport.
Go blue
This is days late.. May the Force be with Dusty and the squad…
Brian was asking about the Tre Donaldson connect, it turns out he's from Florida and played on the AAU circuit, so Dusty was familiar with his game. One of their staffers played at Auburn so they had those games on and watched him quite a bit.
He didn't say Wolf will play 14 mins. He said he would play 14ish at the 5, but that him and Vlad would also play together. I would assume he's probably going to get around 25 as well.
I would say 30+ for each in close games...depending on match ups
Some heads here are gonna explode, those who INSISTED that Wolf won't play any minutes at the 4.
Thanks for noticing that, Old School.
King Tot, where you at buddy? Dusty May is a very intentional person, he makes moves with precision. Wolf listed as a Forward was indeed accurate.
Good point, thanks for the clarification.
Thanks for posting. This was excellent. The program appears to be in very good hands.
Has May done anything thus far that’s been… “less than ideal”?
It seems like he’s charted a great course - and is following it to a “T.
"Nope"
It should be noted that at this point in Howard's tenure he had also done nothing "less than ideal". Not that I'm not happy with the moves May's made, just that looking smart early doesn't necessarily imply future success.
Very fair point. My "gut" says - that Dusty's familiarity with the college landscape is beneficial - he's thought through his approach - and - he has an understanding of how dynamic the college game is these days - with the portal, NIL, etc.
Several years ago - I wished Juwan well - and, I still do. As a fan and alum - it's good to see the start Dusty has. And, I hope it results in dividends for the program.
Go Blue!
The mere fact that we had a basketball presser in the month of May is a refreshing change.
Keeps the press room from getting too Dusty, you know.
Notice he said 1 open scholarship which means Jace gets the scholarship and will be on the team as a 5th year graduate student.

NIL opportunity for Dusty - shampoo commercial to show off that nice hair!
Thanks for posting. Watched the whole thing, and Dusty May continues to be impressive. I don't want to jinx him, but this could really be a home run hire for Michigan.
He's very analytical, detailed, process-oriented, and clearly does his homework. On the other hand, he has a good grasp of relationships, teaching, and seems to be genuinely happy to be at Michigan.
