I assume the YouTube TV DVR allows me to not see the score of a game in progress if I choose to watch it with a multi-hour lag?   I'm seriously considering moving on from DirecTV, but I love their DVR.   And I remember getting burned when trying out MLB (or was it NHL?) streaming a few years ago, where the only way I could access the archived game was via the streaming button that was located right next to the final score.

I think in the current BETA version you get about 20 hours. I have AT&T/DirecTV Now, and I actually have liked it. I was a directv customer then realized I was overpaying by way too much, then i switched to this. I've been debating YouTubeTV vs this, and when I last looked, I went with DirecTV because:

  1. I liked the guide/navigation (haven't seen YouTubeTV recently)
  2. Deal on HBO (that basically made it competitively priced with YouTubeTV)
  3.  At the time, they didn't play nicely with firestick, and DirecTV gave me a free one. (I don't think this is an issue any longer)

You know when you hit pause, and that absolutely obnoxious pause graphic pops up and swallows your entire screen, darkening the image and giving you a bunch of information you don't need?  Can I shut that shit off?  I love the service besides that.  And also the rewind in general isn't frame by frame.

I mean watching a football game on replay, "oh hey I like that play by McGrone, let me pause and see the defensive set up -"

Wow.  I only get it for football season, but I had a better experience with that over Youtube, Hulu or Sling.  I would vote Youtube now that I have to make this choice.

I have been happy with Youtube TV for nearly a year now.  I use Roku devices for my platform.  No complaints for sports availability and/or streaming issues.

Best of Luck!

I've had Hulu Live for almost a year and it's lovely. It's a little cheaper than YouTube TV for the same channels, plus there are limited commercials when you watch shows on Hulu.

I've only tried Hulu Live and AT&T Now. Hulu was a little faster but streaming quality was pretty bad and would pause/kick quite often. AT&T Now has been working extremely well for us so far, the only downside is that the guide can be a little slow at first, but picture quality is really good on it.

I had a feeling this was coming. I read a couple of days ago that they unsuccessfully tried to sell Psvue. I was hoping I had more than two months to figure this out.

Which service has the best DVR and FSD? That's all I really care about. E erything else will fall into place.

Wow, that’s surprising to me. It’s possible that they’re getting their lunch eaten by YouTube, but it seems like they should still be making money unless it’s really mismanaged.

The timing, within a few months of the release of the PS5, makes me wonder if they’re getting a more lucrative deal to partner with someone else. You know, like YouTube TV. Now would not normally be the time you’d want to strip content from your new cash cow product.

Just speculation, but it fits.

I'm well aware of that but a lot of casual folks who may be be considering a streaming service may not be and their first thought might be "video games".  Did it contribute to their low user base?  Maybe.  I was considering it for us but we ended up on my father-in-law's YTTV plan for free (via family sharing).

Stopped getting cable in May, started on Vue in September. This worries me - the service that often is called the best of the bundle streamers can't hack it out there. For me, the ability to DVR networks and replay without commercials is the difference between having a streamer and just going without "live" TV. Are there any alternatives to YouTube that include the BTN and don't force you to watch commercials? Having the BTN and ESPN is not worth $40/month to me on its own. Unfortunately, we are too far from the broadcast stations to use an antenna.

YouTube TV is the best for me. I watch primarily news, college sports, and some HGTV.

Only issue I had was incompatibility with my Roku, but it was the TV and something called HDCP (hardware digital rights management), not YouTube TV, that caused it. Gave me fits while YouTube TV wasn't supporting FireTV. I switched to FireTV recently (YTTV app has only been available for a month) and now no problems.

Their Cloud DVR is good, and you can keep recordings for up to 9 months, when they expire. Best DVR out there.

So glad I left Dish. They were horrible.
