Season Tickets - Uniforms

Submitted by Cock D on July 10th, 2019 at 9:50 PM

Hey - did anyone notice the Rutgers ticket as compared to the other home game tickets?  Helmet seems to be a silver hue and maize (with a "150") over the wings, while the other helmets are the standard blue and maize.

Is this just a ticket thing for the 150th CFB anniversary or are we dressing up that weekend?

It is very clearly the design of the ticket and not a new uniform. It's the equivalent of looking at a black and white picture of our uniform and asking if we have a new monochrome alternate jersey

I'm not so sure.  The ticket itself does have a different color to it, but it is the only one in the set that is different and there is clearly a "150" logo on the helmet.  It's not a black and white ticket, as the wings on the helmet are still maize.

When I opened them up, I immediately thought it meant we would be wearing a special uniform and helmet for that game.

Fair question OP.

In 1969 many teams around the country wore some kind of 100 on their uniform for the centennial of football.

I think I noticed something similar on the Norte Dame, Michigan St. & Ohio St. tickets but I’ll need to see a picture of the barcodes to be sure!

Nice one!

Reminds me that I’ll have to find ways to score tickets myself. After 40 years of season tickets, I opted out this year. Been working remote for the last 2 years and won’t be around this fall either. Was only home for the Wisconsin game last year. Flew out early the next morning. Decided it was time.

Yes, I realize it”s the best home slate in a long long long long time!

My daughter noticed this immediately on her student tickets and asked me about the significance of the 150 on the Rutgers ticket.   My initial guess was celebrating the birth of college football, especially since Rutgers supposedly played in the first intercollegiate football game (pics or it didn't happen, Rutger).

Being that it's the 150th anniversary of College Football (all teams will be wearing a patch to commemorate it) and given that Rutgers (1869) and Michigan (1879) are the two oldest Division I FBS programs, it's entirely possible that Michigan is choosing to celebrate this occasion with something on that date.
