Well-deserved. Ol' Money Moody
December 9th, 2021 at 8:32 PM ^
Also named to Walter Camp All-America Team
December 9th, 2021 at 8:32 PM ^
Give us all the awards.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:34 PM ^
He's been unbelievable. Well deserved.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:35 PM ^
my boy Moody!
December 9th, 2021 at 8:35 PM ^
Helluva season. Had that baby draw working every game
December 9th, 2021 at 8:39 PM ^
Of course he didn't miss the award - he hasn't missed anything all year!
December 9th, 2021 at 8:40 PM ^
I'm glad we all voted for him
December 9th, 2021 at 8:40 PM ^
I didn’t think he would win, after not making a single FG for a few weeks.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:47 PM ^
+1 underrated post
December 9th, 2021 at 8:47 PM ^
Had plenty of XP work though.
December 9th, 2021 at 9:01 PM ^
Saved by all those extra points.
Edit: long day, I guess, because I completely overlooked the same exact reply above.
December 9th, 2021 at 10:10 PM ^
All those XPs meant lots of kickoffs. So, no returns to go along with his lack of FG attempts. Jake was money all year.
December 9th, 2021 at 11:24 PM ^
Was thinking the same thing. All those extra points and kickoffs must have impressed the voters!
December 9th, 2021 at 8:42 PM ^
Kick a touchdown.
Congrats Moody!
Go Blue!
December 9th, 2021 at 8:57 PM ^
I believe that was 'keek a touchdown'.
Congrats Moody, well deserved.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:42 PM ^
Awesome job and well deserved.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:42 PM ^
Would love to see him get drafted.
December 10th, 2021 at 4:58 AM ^
I'm really hoping Washington drafts him. They need a long term kicker badly
December 9th, 2021 at 8:44 PM ^
I am going to keep posting this.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:46 PM ^
My buddy’s grandfather was Lou Groza, and that buddy is also a diehard Buckeye… and let me tell you, he’s not happy about this.
Oh well, congrats Jake, Go Blue!
December 9th, 2021 at 11:36 PM ^
Is ur buddy’s name Jon?
December 10th, 2021 at 9:55 AM ^
As a matter of fact no, it isn’t Jon
December 9th, 2021 at 11:53 PM ^
Per Groza’s wikipedia page:
“Groza graduated from high school in 1942 and enrolled on an athletic scholarship at the Ohio State University where he played as a tackle and placekicker on the Buckeyes' freshman team. Groza played in three games and kicked five field goals.”
That was the entirety of Groza’s collegiate career—in 1943 he was in the service and after the war he went into the pros with the Browns.

What is the general consensus here, could Moody make it to the NFL?
December 9th, 2021 at 8:56 PM ^
I don't see why he couldn't? Is there any practical difference to kicking in the NFL?
December 9th, 2021 at 10:55 PM ^
Hash marks are closer to the center of the NFL field. Since the NCAA no longer allows a kicking "T" for FG attempts, kicking FGs is easier in the NFL because of the hashmarks.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:58 PM ^
Absolutely, he was making them from 60 in warmups before the Iowa game with plenty of room to spare.
He will be a 6th or more likely a 7th round pick I think.
December 9th, 2021 at 9:01 PM ^
Best UM kicker since Ali Haji-Sheikh.
December 9th, 2021 at 10:50 PM ^
Remy Hamilton and Mike Gillette say, “hi.”
December 10th, 2021 at 7:00 AM ^
M has had a number of good kickers through the years. Nice to see one of them get honored with this award. Go Blue!
December 9th, 2021 at 9:08 PM ^
Awesome. I put in five or six votes for him.
December 9th, 2021 at 9:19 PM ^
Jake was huge when the offense was stalling in the red zone early in the season. No way this team is where it is without him… well deserved!
December 9th, 2021 at 9:23 PM ^
Congrats, Jake! Well deserved.
And fuck Mel Tucker and his sorry attempt to ice you three times in a row.
December 9th, 2021 at 9:24 PM ^
Should have been in NY for the Heisman but I don't want to sound too greedy....
December 9th, 2021 at 9:24 PM ^
Jake Money
December 9th, 2021 at 9:42 PM ^
He has quietly become one of the all time great Michigan kickers.
December 9th, 2021 at 9:43 PM ^
Congrats
December 9th, 2021 at 10:14 PM ^
Mel Tucker tried to call timeout right before this was awarded
December 9th, 2021 at 10:24 PM ^
Somebody remember to post this same thread an hour or so from now, and then repeat the process until the board collectively screams in agony. I suppose we could call it "lebriaring" or something.

If you are curious like me....

An enduring symbol of this season for me will forever be the image of him ripping smelling salts before booting a field goal. This team is different.
December 9th, 2021 at 10:56 PM ^
Can’t say many winner recipients were this Moody before (dad pun, get it)…but hey, congratulations!
December 9th, 2021 at 10:58 PM ^
Congrats Jake ???
December 9th, 2021 at 11:07 PM ^
I felt like he was having a good year but I didn’t realize he only missed 2 damn kicks all year. Outstanding.
December 10th, 2021 at 12:45 AM ^
Not bad for a walk-on; who didn’t even get a sleepover
December 10th, 2021 at 6:03 AM ^
Damn this fun!
December 10th, 2021 at 7:06 AM ^
Congrats to Jake on being the first Michigan player to win the Groza!
