Catapult rumors
Not sure if these rumors about OSU and Catapult will amount to anything https://gbmwolverine.com/posts/michigan-wolverines-news-ohio-state-embarrassed-catapult-rumors-heating-up-01hjxcd9wcf7
but for now that + the epic Cotton Bowl performance has made this a pretty good Saturday so far

Please don’t infringe on trademarks.. it’s been widely known for a while - the NIL deals with “Just for Men”. He’s the industry standard - just like NIL - aka “brown bagging” was well practiced in Columbus before it was declared legal by the NCAA.

But a buckeye propagandist assured us that he's far too young to need hairdye. Despite half my head being grey at 38, I believe him.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:20 PM ^
I’m just sitting here waiting for the B1G to make a public statement acknowledging the investigation and saying that they’ve let the member teams know that OSU is currently under investigation. Surely that will happen, right?
December 30th, 2023 at 1:33 PM ^
It's fascinating that so far only Catapult has even said there is an NCAA investigation.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:41 PM ^
or asking other teams if they are concerned about player safety, or suspending Day before a notice of allegations.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:23 PM ^
If true, this is like OSU stealing 21 points....
December 30th, 2023 at 1:26 PM ^
In all honesty though, if the allegations are true, this would actually be what casual fans think Stalions was able to deduce in terms of competitive advantage
December 30th, 2023 at 1:27 PM ^
So, they would have scored.. “-18” yesterday? That’s in OH-IOwa territory.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:31 PM ^
Sounds like OSU accessed Maryland's practice footage.
Maryland!
I think once it all comes out, Day will be fired, Ohio State will time it in a way that they can justify re-hiring Urban Meyer. They'll get their win in Columbus against an 8-3 Michigan team and we'll still be labled as cheaters.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:35 PM ^
I don't think the NCAA nor the Big ten would allow OSU to hire urban again after his firing
December 30th, 2023 at 1:35 PM ^
What's wrong with Maryland? Stalions scouted signs from every Big Ten team including Maryland. Maryland was probably the fifth best team in the Big Ten this year.
Edit: Blue in Lansing is getting negged for mocking OSU for stealing Maryland data and I'm getting negged for defending that OSU would want Maryland's data.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:29 PM ^
Maryland and PSU are the ones we know about. Odds are they got ours too.
December 31st, 2023 at 5:03 AM ^
In the process of having to deny that we are NOT the school being investigated for this, Michigan indicated that it is actually one of the targeted victims in it.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:33 PM ^
If IF these rumors are true about OSU, I don't know how anyone on that staff doesn't get a show cause for life.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:36 PM ^
Geoff Schwartz, who I think is more of an NFL guy for what it’s worth, said yesterday on Twitter that if the allegations are true, then it could be death penalty worthy. But at the same time, if it is OSU, we all know that won’t happen
December 30th, 2023 at 1:45 PM ^
LOL!!! The Death Penalty hasn't been a thing since it ended SMU. The NCAA will never, ever use it again, and it won't even be threatened. Let alone against OSU. Any such statement should tell you that the guy only read an old rule book and doesn't actually know shit about the NCAA.
Honestly, I'll be surprised is this even hits national news aside from some secondary comment about level 3 violations for some staffer...
December 30th, 2023 at 1:48 PM ^
I agree no team will ever face the death penalty again, but with law enforcement involved this could get serious. And serious I mean multiple firings and sanctions
December 30th, 2023 at 2:18 PM ^
By serious I thought you meant time in a penitentiary.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:56 PM ^
Honestly, I'll be surprised is this even hits national news aside from some secondary comment about level 3 violations for some staffer...
There’s no way. If the allegations are true, this makes what Stalions did look like child’s play. The media coverage may not be as detailed since there isn’t a PI firm orchestrating the leak of information however
December 30th, 2023 at 2:27 PM ^
That leads to the question about what serious penalties the NCAA has on the table against schools. A TV ban, definitely not. Docking scholarships, not meaningful anymore. Aside from penalties for coaches, what does that leave?
A postseason ban, that would mean a lot in the new playoff era. A roster limit, rather than a scholarship limit. I don't think that's been done before, but times are changing. If the Big Ten has the power to withhold media rights $$, that's a big one, but I don't see it being used for a substantial amount.
I guess we will first see what penalties they propose for Michigan. I'm expecting them to be focused on Harbaugh.
December 31st, 2023 at 5:05 AM ^
Who will be in the NFL when it happens.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:53 PM ^
Given that the NCAA seems to selectively determine which kind of cheating is actually cheating, do we know which actual rule was (allegedly) violated?
December 30th, 2023 at 1:58 PM ^
Filming other team’s practices is a serious NCAA violation. I’d assume that obtaining unauthorized and potentially illegal access is just as bad or worse
December 30th, 2023 at 2:17 PM ^
But see, that's just it. They didn't film the practice. They were given footage of the practice. I mean, Michigan wasn't afforded any loophole but will OSU be allowed to skate on loopholes?
December 30th, 2023 at 3:00 PM ^
Michigan’s practice film is proprietary. Any handing over of film without UM’s consent is theft.
December 30th, 2023 at 3:02 PM ^
I'm not asking if it's illegal or immoral or dishonest. I'm asking which specific rule will be cited from the NCAA rulebook.
December 30th, 2023 at 9:18 PM ^
Most of what I'm hearing doesn't actually break an NCAA rule but breaks several civil laws. I don't believe the NCAA could fathom a school hacking or gaining access into another schools practice footage. If whats being rumored is true some folks at Catapult and Ohio State are in serious legal trouble. Computer crimes of unauthorized access can reach the federal crimes level. Crimes committed as a representative of a company or University generally mean termination with cause.
Pettetit will look foolish when this all comes out unless he takes an equal stance on the sportsmanship clause he highlighted with Harbaugh. Day deserves a several games more suspension for this bullshit on top of his whining about Harbaugh.
I also don't think Ohio State is the only school doing what they did with Catapult.
December 30th, 2023 at 3:22 PM ^
Only if they can prove it wasn't done on an iPhone will they survive the NCAA's rush to judgement.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:34 PM ^
Teams stopped using catapult in November
OSU finished their season 0-2. Hmmm 🤔
Of course it’s unsubstantiated but after the crap we all went through for 2 months I am all for taking loose rumors and treating them as fact
December 30th, 2023 at 1:41 PM ^
"Stal Bombs" is back to posting as well. I'm counting on exactly nothing to come of this.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:50 PM ^
I think we can confirm Stal Bombs is Stalions or his BFF, whoever that may be. Also, I call B.S. on this interpretation of events.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:55 PM ^
The posters earlier revelations connecting Ohio State and Catapult Sports is quite interesting, that would be quite the guess if it was just throwing shit at the wall. There obviously something to the Stal Bombs account. We shall see how tOSU reacts given that our signal deciphering was "the biiggest college football scandal of all time".
December 30th, 2023 at 1:59 PM ^
My comment was strictly about the specific tweet I linked.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:55 PM ^
Can we get Pettiti on the line? I’m concerned for the safety of Michigan’s players.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:56 PM ^
Tweet at him.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:55 PM ^
Catapult has to destroy any evidence and deny. They are at risk of losing customers and their company going under.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:08 PM ^
If I'm understanding all the (speculative) pieces here, teams uploaded their data to the cloud storage database. Ohio State vast network spies, employed by Catapult, stole the data off the cloud and gave it to Ohio State.
I think there are "local authorities" involved because this is probably an actual criminal act. I don't think Catapult wants to destroy evidence in a criminal investigation.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:36 PM ^
Depends on who's in charge. Some management types are all about cover up and deny, with no clue or appreciation for consequences.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:30 PM ^
They need to cooperate. And they need to find out how stuff is leaking, and thoroughly and completely plug it. And they need to keep their mouths shut, except for the minimum necessary boilerplate, until they can announce that they've done so.
Your way they lose customers, the company goes under, and they get criminal charges to boot.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:13 PM ^
All game long he's looking at the block M.

Btw go check out Third Day Investigation of Farmington Hills website now.

Here's another source.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:22 PM ^
Now we're getting somewhere.
December 30th, 2023 at 5:46 PM ^
I knew Ryan Day was a pussy, but to be this scared of Mike Locksley.. ???
December 30th, 2023 at 2:17 PM ^
I choose to believe Day and others at OSU is behind it, they’ll get a penalty as bad or worse than UM, Day et al will get fired, OSU will face post-season ban the first year of the expanded playoff, and they’ll go 7-5 next year with loses to most everyone
December 30th, 2023 at 2:22 PM ^
Petite Titties, you must suspend Ryan Day indefinitely NOW! Player safety, right? Fair's fair, PT.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:44 PM ^
Didn't the a hoe commish state that if 2 teams complain about the same issue, that they then would investigate it? So Mich complained for TCU now Maryland for SMU. I want a suspension then an investigation for Day and OSU
December 30th, 2023 at 2:38 PM ^
TonnorScalions is saying Thamel knew about these accusations against OSU and knew about Oklahoma using a fan to film sidelines and yet he never reported anything about it.
