I’m just sitting here waiting for the B1G to make a public statement acknowledging the investigation and saying that they’ve let the member teams know that OSU is currently under investigation. Surely that will happen, right?

Sounds like OSU accessed Maryland's practice footage.

Maryland!

I think once it all comes out, Day will be fired, Ohio State will time it in a way that they can justify re-hiring Urban Meyer.  They'll get their win in Columbus against an 8-3 Michigan team and we'll still be labled as cheaters.

What's wrong with Maryland? Stalions scouted signs from every Big Ten team including Maryland. Maryland was probably the fifth best team in the Big Ten this year.

Edit: Blue in Lansing is getting negged for mocking OSU for stealing Maryland data and I'm getting negged for defending that OSU would want Maryland's data.

LOL!!!  The Death Penalty hasn't been a thing since it ended SMU.  The NCAA will never, ever use it again, and it won't even be threatened.  Let alone against OSU.  Any such statement should tell you that the guy only read an old rule book and doesn't actually know shit about the NCAA.

Honestly, I'll be surprised is this even hits national news aside from some secondary comment about level 3 violations for some staffer...

There’s no way. If the allegations are true, this makes what Stalions did look like child’s play. The media coverage may not be as detailed since there isn’t a PI firm orchestrating the leak of information however

That leads to the question about what serious penalties the NCAA has on the table against schools. A TV ban, definitely not. Docking scholarships, not meaningful anymore. Aside from penalties for coaches, what does that leave?

A postseason ban, that would mean a lot in the new playoff era. A roster limit, rather than a scholarship limit.  I don't think that's been done before, but times are changing. If the Big Ten has the power to withhold media rights $$, that's a big one, but I don't see it being used for a substantial amount.

I guess we will first see what penalties they propose for Michigan. I'm expecting them to be focused on Harbaugh.

Most of what I'm hearing doesn't actually break an NCAA rule but breaks several civil laws.  I don't believe the NCAA could fathom a school hacking or gaining access into another schools practice footage.  If whats being rumored is true some folks at Catapult and Ohio State are in serious legal trouble.  Computer crimes of unauthorized access can reach the federal crimes level.  Crimes committed as a representative of a company or University generally mean termination with cause.

Pettetit will look foolish when this all comes out unless he takes an equal stance on the sportsmanship clause he highlighted with Harbaugh.   Day deserves a several games more suspension for this bullshit on top of his whining about Harbaugh.

I also don't think Ohio State is the only school doing what they did with Catapult.

Teams stopped using catapult in November

OSU finished their season 0-2. Hmmm 🤔

Of course it’s unsubstantiated but after the crap we all went through for 2 months I am all for taking loose rumors and treating them as fact

The posters earlier revelations connecting Ohio State and Catapult Sports is quite interesting, that would be quite the guess if it was just throwing shit at the wall. There obviously something to the Stal Bombs account. We shall see how tOSU reacts given that our signal deciphering was "the biiggest college football scandal of all time".

If I'm understanding all the (speculative) pieces here, teams uploaded their data to the cloud storage database. Ohio State vast network spies, employed by Catapult, stole the data off the cloud and gave it to Ohio State.

I think there are "local authorities" involved because this is probably an actual criminal act. I don't think Catapult wants to destroy evidence in a criminal investigation.

They need to cooperate. And they need to find out how stuff is leaking, and thoroughly and completely plug it. And they need to keep their mouths shut, except for the minimum necessary boilerplate, until they can announce that they've done so.

Your way they lose customers, the company goes under, and they get criminal charges to boot.

I choose to believe Day and others at OSU is behind it, they’ll get a penalty as bad or worse than UM, Day et al will get fired, OSU will face post-season ban the first year of the expanded playoff, and they’ll go 7-5 next year with loses to most everyone

TonnorScalions is saying Thamel knew about these accusations against OSU and knew about Oklahoma using a fan to film sidelines and yet he never reported anything about it.
