Bullshit. Kick the FG, take the lead and leave it up to your defense.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:41 PM ^
Can’t wait to see you say that when he goes 0-5 against Ohio State
September 7th, 2019 at 5:54 PM ^
If this happens, I blame YOU.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Coaches get a big fat F. Looked more like shit in space than speed in space. The purpose of the read option is to actually read.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Watch out for space shit.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
Shit floats in space, just like Patterson's passes on earth.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
floats relative to a falling mass perhaps, but gravity is still highly functional in zero-gravity
September 7th, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
The failure of Patterson to pull the ball and either run himself or find a receiver is the story of the game and the failure t score more.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:08 PM ^
to be fair i think this was by design... Shea's not an idiot.
But it begs the question.... if you're not comfortable with your QB's running, why run so many speed option plays? Just seems inefficient.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:25 PM ^
Or, if he’s not running because he’s hurt, then why is he playing.
September 7th, 2019 at 9:47 PM ^
Or do not play the guy. If he is hurt and cannot run. It kills the whole scheme. Play mccaffery and run the read offense. It aint fucking rocket science.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:58 PM ^
TWSSThe failure of Patterson to pull
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
To whichever coaches were responsible for preparing our guys to go out and play today: fuck you too. Give your damn paycheck back. They won in spite of your best efforts to fuck them over.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:51 PM ^
So the coaches are responsible for fumbles, the missed FG, the TD that was taken away by the refs on a non-reviewable call, etc?
September 7th, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
Dude, you're either deranged or blind. We're a crappy football team because our coaches are incompetent. How the fuck you can sit there and cherry pick the only things wrong with this one game that aren't on the coaches after watching systemic incompetence in just about every phase, not to mention our rivals bending us over and having their way with us for 4 years is beyond me. Who's responsible for teaching these kids how to play football like ass?
September 7th, 2019 at 8:24 PM ^
Totally agree with @turtleboy. This disorganized mess is COMPLETELY on the bogus OVERRATED coach. As far as I'm concerned, this game was a loss and should knock UM out of the top 20. Unfortunately, it won't. And we will be stuck with Harbaugh forever.
Go Texas!
September 7th, 2019 at 4:19 PM ^
What are they responsible for?
September 7th, 2019 at 5:34 PM ^
Name ANY well coached team that has ball security issues in week one that have NOT been fixed by week two. You’re damn right they are responsible.
September 7th, 2019 at 6:32 PM ^
"ball security issues" LOL.
every study ever done on fumbles says that they are completely random
September 7th, 2019 at 6:45 PM ^
can you give me the link to one of these studies?
September 7th, 2019 at 7:10 PM ^
You’ve obviously never played and post a link to those studies, Champ. You are completely full of it, prove me wrong. Random lol.
September 8th, 2019 at 8:19 AM ^
Sorry, fumbles and penalties are mental errors. Mental preparation is coaching. Example, when you know you are going to be hit you cradle ball to protect. What did Patterson do on first play vs MTSU? Carrying like loaf of bread when he knew he was going to be hit...mental mistake, not random
September 7th, 2019 at 8:27 PM ^
yes, the coaches are responsible, if they're out there not protecting the ball, holding on to it trying to make something happen when it should be safely thrown away, that is 100% on the coaches who had all spring and summer to work on that, it's two weeks in a row now. This is going to be a LONG season. Needless to say when I found out mid summer that Gattis had never called a play before, well, I was a bit suspect. He'll improve I'm sure but just not sure if completely green coordinators were the best way to go.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Questionable Personnel moves, horrible play calling and poor clock management.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:07 PM ^
Yep. And an inexplicable decision to stay with Patterson when his play is average, at best.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Thanks for the opportunity, LSA. But I don't want to be NEG banged by millennial fanboy asshats for saying the coaches are point shaving boobs. But MGoPoints don't work, so there.r
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Harbaugh better fix this shit or he won’t be around for much longer.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
Our coaching has been regressing since year one. I sincerely thought that last year's horror in Columbus was rock bottom, but no, it's actually gotten worse, somehow.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:20 PM ^
Last year we would have won with Durkin or Mattisons D. This D of Browns feels like a gimmick, the RichRod of defense. Works great at a lower school.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:27 PM ^
It's starting to look that way.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:32 PM ^
you are out of your mind.... you're like the people that used to say "anyone can win at Michigan, at least 8 games a year" Then came 2 coaches that probably couldn't
But I'm sure Don Brown's just been lucky his whole DC career right?
September 7th, 2019 at 8:05 PM ^
We've had two top 5 S&P defenses in his three years here, all three years in the top 10.
But I get what you're saying, it can definitely be beat from time to time, and spectacularly. Most of the time it's great, but for big games, head-to-head scheming, we've been outsmarted as much as we've outsmarted our big-time opponents it seems. But maybe that's normal, unless you're Clemson or Alabama.
September 7th, 2019 at 9:10 PM ^
Even 'Bama got lit up by a true freshman in the biggest game of the year last season.
September 8th, 2019 at 7:43 AM ^
What a dumb fucking take. The defense was not the problem yesterday nor has it been the primary problem since Don Brown has been here. 2 bad games in 4 seasons (OSU last year and PSu two years ago), but yes let’s go get DJ “athlete killer” Durkin
September 7th, 2019 at 9:59 PM ^
Don't fool yourself - his ass ain't going anywhere - unless he leaves on his own. This school is tied to JJH. They don't have the balls to fire the golden child. If he puts up 8+ wins - he stays - book it.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Thanks for the opportunity, LSA. But I don't want to be NEG banged by millennial fanboy asshats for saying the coaches are point shaving boobs. But MGoPoints don't work, so there.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
I don't get how we talk such a good game every offseason and then go lizard brain in game.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
It’s the same shit every year. Crank the hype machine each offseason and shit the bed when it counts.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:08 PM ^
Possibly part of the problem is the constant hype about players and coaches. Maybe people are losing their edge. I know it was a different era, but Bo rarely, if ever, hyped up players, but they kicked more tail on game day.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
Harbaugh is not worth what we're paying him, end of story. I would rather rewatch old games from Lloyd 10 times out of 10 than this shit. This shit is unwatchable. How you can continue to run like that AND keep Patterson in the game is absurd. Wisconsin is going to kill us in 2 weeks at this rate.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:48 PM ^
We will beat wisky
September 7th, 2019 at 3:49 PM ^
Let’s not go overboard now! Ha ha.
September 7th, 2019 at 3:57 PM ^
This is no joke. I used to save Michigan games and re-watch them, even under RR and Hoke I still have some saved because they bring me joy, like ND under the lights, or beating OSU once every other decade, but after year one I've saved 0 games. Rewatching Harbaugh football is just painful and joyless. I fucking hate it.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:19 PM ^
You just summed it up for me. I thought it was because I was getting older or losing interest but the Harbaugh teams are just really fucking frustrating to watch. I don't enjoy them like I used to. I can't put my finger on it but it just has to be the offensive playcalls. I just don't enjoy watching them bang their heads into a wall over and over and over and over. AND OVER.
September 7th, 2019 at 5:48 PM ^
If you didn't enjoy last year's MSU, Wisconsin, and Penn State games, that's on you, not Harbaugh.
September 7th, 2019 at 8:15 PM ^
and Nebraska...!
September 7th, 2019 at 4:22 PM ^
Forget about Wisconsin. Maryland scares the shit out of me right now.
September 7th, 2019 at 4:32 PM ^
The only teams on the remaining schedule that don't scare the shit out of me are Rutgers and Illinois.
September 7th, 2019 at 5:03 PM ^
I’d rather watch the Moeller years. Even in 97 the offense was unwatchable. Harbaugh is Lloyd.
September 7th, 2019 at 5:05 PM ^
Harbaugh WISHES he was Lloyd. Lloyd would win 10 games more often than not too, playing 13 games a year.
