Geez you gotta be fast around here. Was about to post this.
More:
Brown, who started six games as a defensive back but recently moved to running back, posted a photo on his Instagram page that read, "COULDN'T PLAY FOR A RACIST MAN!!!!"
In the caption, Brown added that "Sark treated me like a slave in his office."
When informed of the post, Sarkisian said he was "shocked" and called the allegations "ridiculous."

Can we accomidate? jk

I never thought a coach would come into USC and instantly achieve more drama than Lane Kiffin, but man, this is a brutal week for them.
August 28th, 2014 at 3:37 PM ^
to be fair, I don't think you can pin that clown rescuing his imaginary nephew on the coach
August 28th, 2014 at 3:58 PM ^
Sure, but you can blame someone at USC (may or may not be Sark) for running with the story before doing the slightest amount of fact checking.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:24 PM ^
Shaw's family members corroborated the drowning nephew story.
Oddly enough, if Sark had assumed all those black people were lying and that the more likely story involved the cops and a domestic violence situation, then Anthony Brown's silly statements might have some sliver of validity.

Man, I just noticed the kerning is bad between the 'c' and the 'l' in "clown."
August 28th, 2014 at 5:41 PM ^
it is only several thousand times more important than minor changes to football uniforms.
I congratulate you, sir, on your utter irrelevance.
August 28th, 2014 at 6:12 PM ^
I guessed from context, but had to look up kerning. Learned something new. Clearly like clockwork on a cycle. Clap clap clap.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:19 PM ^
it was an imaginary rescue of a nephew.
August 28th, 2014 at 6:13 PM ^
the nephew is real, the rescue was not. So not comparable to the Manti T'eo situation, where the relationship was real, but the girlfriend was not.

On top of these other two stories, Pat Haden has been in the hospital a couple of times this week. Hopefully that's nothing serious. Best case scenario is that he's being hospitalized for regret about being a Trojan.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:03 PM ^
Pat Haden probably regrets that Lane Kiffin's dad wasn't using a Trojan nine months before Lane was born.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:08 PM ^
Lane Kiffin's dad is pretty bad at coordinating defense.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:11 PM ^
NFL history. One bad year at SC does not alter that.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:12 PM ^
To be fair, we're talking a few decades ago, and it was tough to defend the Run & Shoot.
Too gross?
August 28th, 2014 at 4:57 PM ^
pistol?

Two-minute drill?

Spread?
August 29th, 2014 at 7:49 AM ^
Not too gross. Reminds me of HS health class, which was taught by our girls basketball coach. He said to remember you always dribble before you shoot.
August 28th, 2014 at 6:19 PM ^
Maybe Rob Parker should ask Monte if he wishes he fathered a better coach.
August 28th, 2014 at 3:35 PM ^
things in LA sure have turned ugly quicly. Too soon to ask what recruits this might help us with?
August 28th, 2014 at 3:39 PM ^
I doubt USC comes out looking bad in this case. But yes our non-racist milkshakes will bring all the boys to the yard.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:00 PM ^
Look to the cookie, nowayman, look to the cookie.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:09 PM ^
You sold us a hair with a cake around it.
August 28th, 2014 at 9:08 PM ^
Let's watch Texas this season.
August 28th, 2014 at 3:40 PM ^
I think we need to see the details to know (i.e., see who's in the wrong). The range of possibilities is "no impact on anyone" to "all guys who don't want to play for a racist." The latter group is probably just about all guys.
August 28th, 2014 at 5:52 PM ^
Seems Sark's feelings are hurt; we'll probably never know what was said by Sark in their office meeting:
"As far as what [Brown] said on Twitter, I think it's ridiculous," Sarkisian said. "Any of you guys that know me and if you ask anybody in our building, any of our players -- feel free to -- that's about the furthest thing from the truth. Quite honestly, I'm shocked."
August 28th, 2014 at 3:37 PM ^
is this a kid who is frustrated he couldnt crack the depth chart at rb and cb? or was he acturally going to see the field
August 28th, 2014 at 3:41 PM ^
Doesn't have to be either or.
August 28th, 2014 at 3:37 PM ^
Daelin Hayes?

August 28th, 2014 at 3:47 PM ^
When USC plays Notre Dame, the announcers will have so many off-the-field things to discuss they won't be able to talk about the actual game until the second quarter.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:38 PM ^
August 28th, 2014 at 3:42 PM ^
was OC at USC then a head coach at Washington before coming back, never any sort of allegation of racism. I'm thinking a particular RB is just a little too sensitive.
August 28th, 2014 at 3:43 PM ^
Apparently a lot of other players are chiming in to Sark's defense on social media so this sounds like one bad apple.
August 28th, 2014 at 3:53 PM ^
Sark has probably been around college football longer than this kid has been alive.
He's pissed and wanted to yell some bullshit that he'll have to apologize for by the end of the weekend.
Social media gives him that platform.
Sark is in the wrong profession if he doesn't like black people.
This is an ignorant kid, being an ignorant kid...did he get replaced by a white guy or something? Regardless, this is just another embarrassing story for USC.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:07 PM ^
Well, you seem to know the details - somehow - better than just about everyone else right now, since you're so certain about how the blame should be distributed. Please share.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:17 PM ^
Whenever issues about race come up, there will be people trying to downplay it and its importance. I don't know if it comes from a place of ignorance or malevolence, but it's very annoying.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:28 PM ^
Meh, it goes both ways. There are certain people who try to frame lots of things in racial terms that have nothing to do with race or racism.
Let's just treat this for what it is at the moment, an isolated, unsubstantiated claim by one player out of the thousands Sarkisian has coached in his career.
August 28th, 2014 at 4:53 PM ^
Shrieking denunciations generally don't end in justice being served.
August 29th, 2014 at 1:15 AM ^
August 28th, 2014 at 5:33 PM ^
But we'll see smart ass.
I'm in no way defending Sark, I just find it hard to believe that someone (who's 18-19 years old) can have adversity, then make a claim via Instragram and it validated just because a kid said so.
But you're right...let's wait and see what happens. But in the end, you're still a dick...and that has nothing to do with race. I'll be the first to admit if I'm wrong, but I'll also be sure to tell you "I told you so" if I'm correct.
August 28th, 2014 at 5:41 PM ^
Classy and mature, as always, Mr. Yost. I hope you'll continue posting here long past your 14th birthday.
