An exception to the titular rule - Fred Hoiberg
What?
I am very confused but I would take Hoiberg. Very good at Iowa State and has turned Nebraska from a doormat into a respectable program.
Hoiberg relies heavily on transfers. Horrible fit, thanks to Michigan's never-ending quest to make things more difficult than they need to be.
Yeah, I can think of few coaches worse suited for UM than a guy who constantly imports players from elsewhere.
This is also one of those peak roster years for Nebraska and so it'll be interesting to see how they look next season and if he can maintain this success with significant roster turnover.
At the moment we need a coach that can bring in the transfers. Don't we?
Get up for the downvote. Everybody get up!
Is Other Andrew a fan of early ’70s Parliament? Nice!!!

He's not Oriental Andrew, a legendary poster on the blog.
I mean, we gotta point out when someone is short of legendary? I’m just as God made me, sir.
Get on the good foot.
The Mayor

Beavis and Butthead was an iconic program back in the day.
"Breaking the law, breaking the law!!"
Matt Painter?
But my number 1 choice is Kelvin Sampson....took Houston from doormat to juggernaut. Loses great players every year and it doesn't matter.
I know Kelvin ran a loose ship in past but it appears he's learned. I'm sure he'll say no but try please.

But he could be our scumbag

Sampson is 68, will be 69 before next season. Why would he leave what he has going at Houston for a total rebuild at UM?
Can't be easy to recruit Nebraska. With more resources and NIL, Hoiberg would have a higher ceiling at Michigan.

Are we sure Michigan basketball has more NIL money than Nebraska basketball? Tominaga could have gone pro after last season (abroad). He likely got good rea$on$ to stay. Lots of them. We lost Dickinson.
Good question. Nebraska certainly has not spent much NIL on football recently, although Raiola may mean that is changing. Should have plenty of cash left for basketball.
I like Hoiberg as a choice. Like Harbaugh, he has pro coaching experience and can relay that to players and recruits. Seems like a safe choice anyway.

He is called the mayor for a reason.

Interesting his son plays reserve minutes and is a Sophomore at Nebraska.
That makes things a little more difficult. Bringing your son into a rebuild situation would not be easy.
