Isaiah Livers Is Returning
Michigan's most efficient player has withdrawn from the NBA draft:
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan men's basketball guard/forward Isaiah Livers announced Friday (July 17) that he will return for his senior season and remove his name from the 2020 NBA Draft.
Livers was outside of draftable range when he put his name in and needed to change during the NBA's pre-draft evaluation process. COVID-19 cancelled that process, so this was the logical decision. In Livers, Michigan gets back a versatile defender who shot 49/40/96 last year with a rock-bottom TO rate.
There is no content after the jump.
Good news for us. Now everybody put a mask on so we actually get to see the benefits of this.
96???
Yes, 44 of 46. Both misses game in November. Pretty unacceptable he missed any at all...
He has a little quirk in his FT motion where he cocks his arm forward and down a bit before it goes back. But he does it with astounding consistency, with almost no variance from one shot to the next. Livers and the gentleman from Oregon were the two best shooters I saw in college ball this past season.
And Livers, Johns and Wagner is a formidable wing rotation.
I would even add Chaundee Brown as another wing option....not based on his position, but he really attacks the basket and rebounds like another wing on the court.
THANK GOD. Now lets hope there actually is a season.
I suspect the NBA is more likely to play this year than the NCAA, so I was sort of expecting the opposite decision, but if we do play we'll get back a great player.
first team all-big ten, 2021. book it.
He is going to have a stellar year...he just keep progressing as a player.
Here is hoping he gets an actual senior season to play basketball.
As a Michigan fan, I'm selfishly happy about this.
But good grief, NBA teams saw a guy who shoots 49/40/96 and plays great D and couldn't think of a place for him???
Yes!!
Getting Wagner and Livers back takes away the sting of losing out on the two likely one-and-dones (Todd and Christopher). Getting Smith and (hopefully) Brown helps with losing DeJulius, Castleton, and Bajema. And the recruits for 2021 are excellent so far.
So we're back on track with where we thought we were in March. So let's play ball (safely)!
Good news for us! Hopefully he will have the chance to make his case with a good season and will ultimately reap the benefits at the next level
Wish I believed there will be a season ):
This sites usability sucks. I try to upload MY pictures and there is always a problem ... must be a jpeg or mpeg and it IS A jpeg or mpeg- format or size exceeds limits... how the hell do you change this ??? my punch cards don’t seem to work on this site. So I take a “live” picture of my phone from my IPad and it turns it upside down!! WTF! Anyways this is Isaiah’s ritual/ game he plays with Jacob in the MaizeRage about 30 minutes before tipoff. Rock Paper Scissors and Isaiah had a comfortable lead at the Purdue game. Don’t know the final score but I’d put my money on Mr Livers. Next year Jacob will have a new strategy and should be more competitive.
Fess up, ur in chyyyna. Perfect picture. Perfect.
Where is Livers in the history of Michigan basketball? What's his peer group today and where do you think he'll end up?
Who not to vote for. Got it!
