MGoTheater 3000: Michigan at MSU Basketball 2011
We know you're starving for live sports. While we cannot provide that, we can do the next-best thing: watch some old games while providing inane commentary.
Join me at 8:00 pm ET as we travel back to January 27th, 2011, when John Beilein's Wolverines went in search of their first win at the Breslin Center since 1997. Bob Wischusen and (gulp) Stephen Bardo are on the call. I'll be talking over them for much of it. Trust me, this is for the best.
If you'd like to take part in the live chat, you can get the full experience on my Twitch page.
Consider this a test run. If all goes well, plan on seeing a lot more of this while we're all waiting for something approaching normalcy to return.
Sorry, "Better Call Saul" comes on at 9 Eastern, which means I'll miss the entire second half. I have my priorities man...
I have the Michigan OSU gave saved on my DVR
I watched for a bit. Ace--you need someone else or two on with you to banter with

Like Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo.
Do. More.
I love this idea. There needs to be more in the booth. Ace is definitely the anchor. At least another or maybe 2 more, with one monitoring the comments. Some facts from the game prepared (I know - there was) and this is really cool. Thanks.
Good stuff Ace and great format. I'd be interested in more of these. Maybe Brian or others (Seth, Dave, Craig etc.) can be your guest Bardo?
Game suggestion:
When we’re deep into this quarantine shit, like, week 7, do the App State game. For real. Have fun with it.

Devin Funchess exchanging his #87 jersey for #1 pregame is the only thing I remember from that.
Thanks to everyone for tuning in. Definitely a work-in-progress but planning to keep these going and incorporating suggestions. Going to have more moderation of the chat—I had auto-moderation tonight but no in-person mods and once the game started I didn't have a chance to change anything midstream.
Also working on adding a second (or more) commentators. The software I'm using didn't have an easy way to make that work but I've added a plugin that'll make it possible. Just need to test it out. At the very least, we should have other staff members join me, and I'm hoping to be able to nab a former player or two at some point. Put this together on a whim today; now that I've done it once, I know what I'm getting into.
Thanks for doing this, Ace. As a true sports nostalgic I enjoyed the game, the circa-2011 bottom line and a lot more about this. I was also reminded that Matt Vogrich was a part of this team...if he had come around, say, five years later would he be leading the NBA in 3-point shooting now?

Cool idea. I'll probably at least watch replays. I don't know if I can watch live usually.
Totally forgot the aneurysm of leadership happened so early. I was thinking it was near the end.
Hey Ace, this is great!
One question: Can you start unblocking the people from your twitter who liked one of Ant Wright's tweets? I loved your twitter but accidentally liked one of Ant's tweets one day and you blocked me. Would be really awesome and mature of you to do so. Thanks dude!

That was great, Ace. Thanks.
