Don Brown, something something, prepping since spring ball, blah blah, physically overmatched opponent, etc

A true win happens with no injuries!

My guess would be that it’s …

My guess would be that it’s “You suck, bitch” more than “you suck bitch” — reminding me of my favorite comma illustration: “Let’s eat, Grandma” vs. “Let’s eat Grandma.” Although said live, the insult doesn’t seem to have the slight pause you would expect from a comma being present. So I could see how it could be heard as “you suck bitch.” In which case I completely agree that it’s an inane insult.

Either way, include me in the number of those vehemently opposing the use of this chant.

We have a highly intelligent…

We have a highly intelligent readership on this board, so I’d like to ask for some input regarding the following quote from the OP’s link: “Since 2015, MSU has been working to make campus a place of awareness, respect and safety...”

Um... I am not a public relations specialist or an attorney; with that said, I’m really struggling to see the wisdom in the wording of this public statement. Specifically, why would you include that phrase, “since 2015,” when the institution you represent has been around since long before then? I know they’re referencing institutional changes they believe they’ve made in the wake of Nassar, but this seems to say that MSU decided to suddenly care about “awareness, respect and safety” approximately four years ago. Can a public statement such as this one by a University spokesperson open the institution to more culpability? I’m just curious.

Also, I’m ready for football. Please.

I don’t think anyone has…

I don’t think anyone has extrapolated about that statement re: Ross. Is he really saying he’s the brightest linebacker he’s ever coached? I mean, that’s huge praise considering last year’s MIKE that was just drafted. I know, Bush’s athleticism jumped off the tape at everyone, but don’t forget what this site pointed out several times: Bush rarely misread plays. And he blew up so many things because of that combo of speed and intelligence. Could it be that Ross — who might not be the same caliber of athlete as Bush — can help bridge that gap because he’s somehow more cerebral than Bush? I don’t even know what that would look like considering how often Bush chose the right reads and angles.

I hope Ross will be the one to minimize the hurt from Bush’s NFL departure, but what I know for sure is that I’m going stir crazy waiting on this season to start!

Long-term reader, first-time…

Long-term reader, first-time commenter, so caveats, etc.

I find it interesting that this article claims Chase was injured in the OSU game, when Angelique’s piece states it was the Indiana game:

I assume it would be from the same media availability.
