The most plausible situation that I can think is that Coach Weiss getting involved with someone within the University and sending them some type of email that would be incriminating. Then he decides to gain access to their University email to delete it. The person becomes aware of this access and deletion and notifies police.
This is very enlightening though with regard to Warde.
Usually a University President would make every effort to protect the reputation of the Athletic Director, even when they are a dead man walking. For the President to make a statement so clear that he was one that negotiated and got the deal done is really disparaging for Warde. Santa really has nothing really to gain by taking all the credit, as he is the President of the University and has huge responsibilities elsewhere.
