So many one shot and a Michigan rebound I can’t remember the number. Jawann has delivered on stellar defense with a pro-style offense. Unlike football, the basketball team makes second ha,f adjustments that exploit the other team.
How good is Mike Smith? He makes Hunter Dickinson so much better with those “no look” passes giving Hunter open dunks. When Eli Brooks takes over the passes are not close to the same.
And it seems like we were made to believe this was a Michigan problem, alone. Most of the Michigan transfers went to lower programs. Not defending Harbaugh here just saying the reporting on this seems jaded,
I think the biggest opportunity for Wheatley is to teach our RB to wait for the hole to develop. Watching Melvin Gordon you saw a guy who was patient, let the blockers finish, and then explode. Denard got big yards because he did this behind the same line our RB did not have near the success.
Who can forget the 93 Rose Bowl where Michigan was down start of the 3rd Q and we had a miserable 12 yard return to be near our goal line. Second play from the line of scrimmage Wheatley takes the ball, breaks a tackle at the line, cuts to the sideline, and that was it. I had never seen such a combination of size and speed. I think Green can be that kind of back. We actually have great depth there and Wheatley can do what no one has fixed so far: make Michigan into a running team again.
I believe Coach Hoke recruited good talent but they lacked discipline and execution (we heard again and again how they just failed to execute on key plays). I do not expect many players to leave; JH has too great of a reputation. The defense should continue to improve as it did under Mattison but the OC will be critical. I do not think we need great QB play; we are stacked at RB and if the OL executes well then JH will be content to run the ball and control the game. I expect game preparation to be better; planning and scheming for each team is where JH will really leave a mark,
By year 3 I expect the QB play will become a major factor, potentially year 2. By year 3 we should compete with the top teams.
I am still not convinced that Harbaugh isn't playing Michigan for a better NFL opportunity. Listened to Mike and Mike this morning and one of their guests stated that Harbaugh was using Michigan to sweeten his opportunities with other NFL teams. In all honesty, if he does this then I never want to see his face again and I will cheer for him to have nothing but disaster in his future. He can come to Michigan and be as big as Bo or he can alienate himself from the school forever.
I think you're right, he hates to fail. The only reason to stay is he cannot stand to leave the NFL not having been the best. However, maybe he can view taking Michigan back to dominance as a good reason.
If Harbaugh quits because nothing more can happen at SF. Harbaugh is gone; where is the question. Harbaugh would make more at Michigan so financially it makes sense. Any pro team will have to trade draft picks and he will cost a lot so this would impact building the team.
When you read SF fans comments they are ready for JH to leave. The Raiders want him, and so does Miami, but JH has an ego and I think Michigan is getting more appealing. Why not Michigan? He knows that we desperately believe in him and his ego wants that to be the case. Comments from players are his "style" is more college-oriented. Michigan actually seems like the better fit. He hasn't said, No, which means he hasn't rule it out. The loss today means they are almost out of playoff hope. It really could happen and it makes sense to happen.

He isn’t consistent on offense yet but he is amazing on defense. Best player on the floor.
I agree. He’ll come back to have Jawann coach him another year. Just watched another one-shot miss from Minnesota and we lead by 33 points!
But we haven’t played anyone good yet? The lead is approaching 30 points! The best defensive team I can recall.

Who wants Bret Venable after this game? Seriously, they are getting exposed by OSU.

No way the Niners fire Harbaugh, they will want to trade him for something. It has to be Harbaugh's call...
