Then they must be paying them

Then they must be paying them to go to other schools. What was the last high end recruit MSU had from Chicago? Shannon Brown over a decade ago?

MSU wasn't considered a

MSU wasn't considered a national powerhouse in football or basketball...until they were, either. Hiring and firing coaches is pretty murky territory, for sure. If you look at Izzo and Dantonio, when they were hired, nobody but nobody predicted they'd have this sort of sustained success, and MSU would reach the heights they have at the national level. I don't think MSU's admin was dead set on becoming an athletic powerhouse and neither were their fans, it just so happened that the coaches they aquired truly were and have built a sustain machine.

Harbaugh has that fire to do likewise. I'm not so sure Coach B has that same sort of drive, particularly evident in his recruiting approach. When he conceeded early on Winston, and by extension Bridges (who MSU then snatched up to secure a dominant class along with Langford) it spoke to that, I think. We don't know all the details there, but from all appearances Coach B went out with a whimper and not a bang.

Coach B might want to be great and be captain of a sustained powerhouse program, but I just don't think he's bringing that same enthusiasm to the recruiting aspect that Harbaugh is known for. That's the difference.

Harbaugh's, Izzo's and Dantonio's dont grow on trees, for sure; but if MSU can go to the Final Four in both football and basketball in the same year, why can't Michigan with all it's resources?

9 years in and the Coach B has a mixed bag in terms of results. With Izzo bringing in a large top rated class,  while Michigan's BB outlook appears less optimistic, this doesn't outwardly seem like a situation that is simply going to heal itself in short order. Coach B needs to be made to change his approach drastically, or a change is likely needed... if Michigan wants to be elite in both sports simultaneously.

It may be a Bo Ryan type of thing were the guy is just professionally exhausted by the rigors of recruiting and is eyeing a more peaceful sunset at his age. I could hardly blame him, he's had a long and successful career. It wouldn't surprise me if he decided to hang it up if Warde had a heart to heart with him.

Junior year winter break

Junior year winter break myself and a roomate were intent on getting drunk every day and night for a week...we made it four days and nigh unto another half before inevitably accepting our plight as simple scholarlry stiffs with mere weekend dalliances.

Must be an old joke. Didn't

Must be an old joke. Didn't 'staee' just come off a like a 3 or 4 game bowl win streak?

Well, I hope you won't ever

Well, I hope you won't ever forget or question--that outside of these hyped-up sporting events and all the ups and downs that come with it--that you have tremendous worth. Not just to the Michigan Sports community, but to humanity at large. We'd much rather have you with us than any sort of "win," or banner.

I can't rightly say that I hope that you double-down on Michigan because, I'd rather you double-down on life and all it's wonderment, and come to know only tremendous happiness throughout your years, outside of athletics.

Whenever life feels out of control, know that you can weather any storm my good fellow. Know you have great worth and tremendous value; owning zero to the outcome of sporting events.

Blessings.

The official MGoPosition is

The official MGoPosition is always that "Staee" sucks, no matter how good they are, or who they beat. Also, "no one cares, so stop posting about it."

5 out of the last 6 top ten teams they played they have beaten? No one cares. Right?

If the sky were to fall and they won the Playoff, they still would have stolen it, and no one cares. Refrain from posting about it.

Harbaugh. Right?

Seriously though, Michigan needs to get itself together. It's not a slam dunk in the state anymore.

Draymond wasn't a Rivals

Draymond wasn't a Rivals Top100 recruit coming out of High School, and by his Senior season at MSU he was a Consensus All American and had won NABC National Player of the Year honors.

Everyone gets that you hate everything MSU and express it with irrational logic towards MSU related topics, but come on man, grow up. If you can't admit that Draymond developed at MSU under Izzo, you're either trolling or delusional.

I think you'll commonly find

I think you'll commonly find that mans willingness to forgive, along with their adherence to the notion of "Christian redemption," is quite proportional to how much faith they have in said person advancing their own interests and/or lining their own pockets. Sadly.

I take great expection to

I take great expection to this post. There is no evidence whatsoever and I mean WHATSOEVER to suggest that Winston was in any way a "marksmen" with that BB gun.

Black Bart probably wouldn't have gotten his.

Pertinents of the .gif

Pertinents of the .gif please. I've long divorced pop culture I'm afraid and this made me chuckle for some reason... and I have no idea where it orginated from or what is transpiring there, other than seemingly unintentional hilarity. TIA.

Yeah, Langford running that

Yeah, Langford running that 4.43 (fastest RB) really surprised me as well. He always struck me as a very tough runningback, and very well conditioned, as he often seemed to zip and bang the hardest in the fourth quarter, but I didn't know he had that kind of straight speed. Crazy.

This comment pretty much

This comment pretty much expresses my opinion as well. The people that are down-playing Devin's poor 40 time here, I think are quite misguided. 40 times are almost assuredly way over-valued by the NFL check signers, sure, but it's something these players have to live with. A poor 40 time absolutely has a negative impact (as this will) on the number of scouts likely to make a trip to see Devin on Pro Day. Complete redemption therefore is nigh unto impossible. Interest goes down, competition follows, and so does the money.

Yup, I'm quite sure of it

Yup, I'm quite sure of it now...due to all the dancing in the streets and painting of the town... someone definitely forgot to cancel Michigan's subscription to Monkey Rodeo Weekly after Harbaugh actually signed on.

Must be on auto-renew...that's how they get you. That freaking auto-renew. *SMH*

Seriously, it's getting

Seriously, it's getting pretty ridiculous and impossible to defend. It's always, "Staee will take a step back next year." Then the season happens and it's..."well they got lucky I guess ...but like for totes realz tho, Staee will take a step back NEXT year for sure." Rinse and repeat. MSU being good doesn't mean Michigan will suck.

Precisely! If you look at

Precisely! If you look at this years selections in the "four" the Big 12 got straight chumped anyway you look at it. Formulaically, I'd argue Baylor should maybe have gotten the slot over OSU, having beaten TCU head to head, and OSU having a slightly worse loss. OSU got that last spot because of brand and probably the cache provided from beating MSU in EL and straight boat-racing Wisconsin. It's important for Michigan and all B1G teams that, despite the national meme that "B1G SUX!!1" that we (B1G) didn't get chumped. It might suck for M fans in the present that their two main rivals showed out tonight, but in the long run, it's likely a service them. As it stands right now, and going forward the perception likely will be OSU, MSU, Michigan, with one loss > anyone not named Texas or Oklahoma from Big 12 with one loss. And right now, I'd put Michigan ahead of Texas in recovery rate. Beat OSU and MSU...mad swag going into the B1GCCG in terms of commitee perception.

Meh, objectively, OSU might

Meh, objectively, OSU might have the most stockpiled talent in the nation, they showed-out that second half athletically, it wasn't just coaching. Which clearly goes against the national media narrative.  As much of a perceived sin as it is here to note...Dantonio has a great deal of underrated talent at his disposal as well. That may sting, but the silver-lining perhaps, is that Michigan despite it's abysmal coaching these last few years also, it surely follows, has real and darn decent talent as well, and the common meme of "SEC/ Southern SPEED!!!1" meme should be dead henceforth. Peppers, Norfleet, and Ty, are atheletes very much in the mold of "ZOMG atheleeeetes!" Add in some HARBAUGH and....

I'd have to think that any

I'd have to think that any unbiased view would likely view the B1G East as a legitamate threat, if not possibly a pre-eminate threat for the NCAA playoff contender for the foreseeable future. Three coaches-- which make programs-- are proven at this point. Urban, Dantonio and Harbaugh are proven commodities and are simply not going away; hatred aside.

And what is more, the rivalry that exists between those programs will almost inescapably push those three elite coaches onward and upward, allowing for little complacencey each off-season here on out ,while they are at the helm. That's a good thing. Embrace the competition, it's a good thing. PSU, while I still am hesitant to list Franklin* as an elite coach just yet (in fact I think he's quite overrated myself) will stockpile talent and will become a force to be reckoned with despite, perhaps, not so elite in-game coaching.

* Similar to Hoke

What it all means, is that the B1G champ will be largely respected nationally and most notably, by the committee. Win and you're in. Bang and your relevant. Michigan will compete now with elite coaching. Exciting times ahead for the B1G East. We can compete, conference-wise, with anyone.

Dantonio, a branch off the

Dantonio, a branch off the Saban and J. Tressel coaching tree, has a national championship ring from his time as a DC. His defensive chops are for reals. Additionally,  Mike Tressel (just promoted to DC at MSU) was his GA during that 2002 championship. You're likely pretty off-base if you think MSU's D is likely to go anywhere as long as Dantonio is head coach. You sound nearly as unreasonable and sophmoric here as the OSU and MSU fans downplaying the Harbaugh hire. It's perfectly ok to give credit where credit is due and still be a Michigan fan.

The Harbaugh, Meyer, Dantonio B1G East trifecta, will represent some of the best coaching and rivalry storylines in all of college football. Gamefaces.

Well seeing that he's a great

Well seeing that he's a great coach and has more than proven himself at every stop-- yet by all accounts management dislikes him personally so much (as their employee) that they are almost gauranteed to make sure he doesn't coach there next season one way or another-- I'd guess they might fire him for the pure punitive and petty satisfaction of it. It happens.

Well, that pretty well

Well, that pretty well defines Hoke's entire tenure. Talk. However, Harbaugh doesn't just proselytize about excellence on the football field...he has proven to actually, like, field it. The feel from the outside on a Harbaugh hire will be much different than was the outta nowhere Brady Hoke hire. Harbaugh will come in with even a greater sense of unified M fanfare than was felt even after Hoke's Sugar Bowl victory (which if you recall was pretty intense). And a much larger sense of, "uh oh," from other fanbases.

Yeah, I think there is some

Yeah, I think there is some of that as well...other fanbases personal insecurities aside, Harbaugh will undoubtedly be great for the B1G.

Yeah, I think, on a national

Yeah, I think, on a national scale, people are being reminded just how deep M's pockets run. M may have been irrevelant in football for several years, but they still have that bazooka-type cache few others do. Much like the B1G as a conference in general. Soon.

"Saint Dumbtonio." I mean,

"Saint Dumbtonio." I mean, really?
