Back in Michigan for a couple months now, but then heading back to Japan ... Sendai: random basketball note, an actually fairly good Gonzaga player is from the same city
pros to Japan/Sendai:
onsen: soaking in big hot baths just feels good, especially when they have different interesting themes- baking soda bath, Chinese medicinal herb bath, sake bath
safe: can't get much safer than anywhere in Japan
clean: groups of people get together to even regularly help sweep streets and everywhere looks pristine
beautiful mountains and amazing trails
friendly kind people
cons: lack of US college sports on TV
even March madness - can't you at least broadcast that?
yeah, U-M was making no effort in pursuing Mathis and already has their QB for the year, so it was big nothing post .... it almost makes me think the author originally mistook Michigan for MSU here and published the article as such, was then called out, and instead of completely deleting that section, he just tried to spin it in a way to avoid deleting half his article. [face palm]
I imagine Welschof had some extra paperwork and visa issues to wait for, so it's not a surprise that he would take more time (currently dealing with some of that myself) - nice to hear they're all in :)
wow - sharing your sentiments. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, figuring they might have a good grad program for him and were one of the few major schools who might give him real minutes. .... but coaching for them crosses a line.
I was wondering if you would include Peppers or not - he was generally "secondary" as a primary position the whole time (even as a viper), so the position switches weren't quite as dramatic as people sometimes depicted them. But he still learned more of the Defense (not to mention O and ST) than almost any player ever. Good call, including him
hehe - great post!
I'd love to see a basketball version of this in some form or another as well - there are soooooo many fun bench mob gifs the last few years :)
long-time reader but first time poster- just want to say the new site looks great! It was worth the wait :)
You had me scared for a brief moment with the 90s flashback site. As someone whose been legally blind for a while, I literally couldn't read anything. But that was pretty funny.
Anyway, I look forward to continuing to see the site's great analysis and commentary in the new format - nice work!

#13 goes from one Euro-born scorer to another - I like it!
-and it looks like that despite the funky perspective of this photo. ...what is his wingspan?

I wasn't expecting to see this here, but it was a great and informative interview - thanks!
