simplification

I wonder if the simplified play calling for JOK was also helpful to the rest of the offense. Simplified playbook might make it easier to use the young TEs and shorter drops makes life easier for the O-line and RBs in pass protection.

Seems like the problem is

Seems like the problem is that good players will get poached and there is a loss in parity. Downside is that the kids lose, espcially those who are having a tough time at the current school. Let kids leave P5 schools for non-P5 schools do so without having to wait a year or something like that.

Brian v. Pandora

I like to imagine that the computer scientists at Pandora have had a confusing problem where their machine learning algorithms keep linking Kylie Minogue to grunge, and they just can't figure out why...

Totally agree. Looks like they're gonna buy high, sell low as Franklin reverts to the mean.

weird timing

Seems like a very good time for Franklin and a bad time for PSU: right before a high expectations season, and right after a surprise breakout season. Further, when Moorehead leaves, could be more big trouble...

Look at 2018 schedule. Could be a verry interesting year for PSU if he is expected to win 9-10 games.

I'd suggest making onsides

I'd suggest making onsides kicks a little easier for the offense to recover. If the recieving team expects them, it is very rare for the kicking team to recover. Maybe the ball only has to travel 8 yeards before being recovered or something like that. Last minute comebacks are super entertaining. A few more of them is a good thing.

Also, if any team turns down the chance to win in regulation and goes for the tie (not going for two), they have to be on offense first in the first overtime.

Sounds like (more) damning

Sounds like (more) damning evidence that will do nothing to change anyone's mind.

Does anyone have an idea how

Does anyone have an idea how much say Harbaugh has in scheduling?

Hockey Playoff

Probably would not fly, but why not only have the Michigan College Hockey Playoff with 6 teams. Round robin, then the top 4 teams play in a playoff at the Joe. Team with the worst record of the 6 takes is relegated-- does not play next year's tournament-- with the 7th Michigan team rotating onto the schedule for the next year. Every game matters, and the cost of losing is not like much else in college athletics, and might add intrigue?

The "We Want Harbaugh" chants

The "We Want Harbaugh" chants make me uneasy about this whole thing. I think that what Brandon and Hoke have done in terms of disregaurd for player saftey is reprehensible and forcing the university to come to address this issue is admirable. For many people this seems to be THE issue. But, for other individuals (as evidence of the chant), I'm concerned that they are using it as oppurtunistic leverage to get a football coach that will win more games. And that if it is true or even percieved to be true, is much more problematic. I'm concerned that this can dilute the original message of "the athletic department should protect athletes especially from brain trauma." There's a reason this message resonated enough to be covered by Al Jazeera and NYT and it's beyond W's and L's.

I don't think the article makes "a big deal" about this

Regardless of whether you think anyone should make a big deal over a player coming out, the article clearly does not. If you read the article, it is clear that Sarafin's coming out is almost barely mentioned and added in an "oh, by the way" fashion, and focuses mostly on his interest in neurology and concussion saftey.

Clearly someone who can

Clearly someone who can contribute. A solid pickup who will be very valuable at stretching the court.

While, I'm glad that Beilein has had a chance to work with Burke and Stauskas (he needed some preparation for coaching a true superstar), I am still concerned. Do you think that he can keep Robinson motivated to drop 60 on Tuesday night games at Rutgers if Michigan fails to make the final four nearly every year? Can Crisler bring the energy that Robinson is used to at his home games? Will he puts teammates at risk of failing out of classes when he decimates the curve? Can he adapt to the TA who barely speaks English because he is used to professors that teach? What will the NCAA do in 2017 when they find out that Robinson has been elected Governor of Michigan, named CEO of Ford and sucessfully recruited by NASA.
