I would hope refusal would put a party in sort of contempt of court. Plus, PSU or B1G pushing back on an order allowing Harbaugh to coach underscores Michigan’s argument that his presence makes a difference and we would suffer irreparable harm were he not allowed to coach.
That’s something I haven’t been able to figure out - why they went state court here. The request for TRO we footnote that Illinois law (relevant because Big HQ there) on TROs is essentially the same. But that’s a civil procedure / choice of law aspect of this I can’t wrap my head around.
inital thought was that by filing in state court we add the task of removal to the Big Ten’s to-do list. But curious for what other mgolawyers think
The judge can issue an order without noticing the other parties of its issuance. But Michigan would have the order to brandish.
again, grain of salt here - this is my what I remember about the federal rule on injunctions, so maybe someone who has litigated TROs can correct or add
Reaching back into law school a bit here, so apologies if it’s incorrect:
But we may not see a decision on the docket because we filed ex parte and I don’t think the non-moving party is entitled to notice of the decision for the TRO.
I don't have enough points to start a thread, but I'd like to note that Tommy Henry earned his first career MLB win last night for the D-Backs after 7 innings of one-run ball. The kid is still a freak. Go Blue.
Good call, that was brutal too. There were too many terrible calls to keep track of, but most of them I just accepted as terrible B1G reffing and playing on the road. These 4 were so bad, even by B1G standards.
I know it's likely been said ad nauseam in this thread and the other, but I don't want to read all of them and I just need to be Mad Online for a second; Iggy's second foul, Simpson getting blown up on the screen, and the double dribble were 3 of the worst no calls I have ever seen.
Totally agree - atmosphere can make a huge difference in college hoops. If Crisler is rockin for UNC, Purdue, and Indiana, it would be huge for this team which, although dominant tonight, is still finding out who they are.
... I remember how bummed I felt when I thought we’d lose a shot a decent win. And then this team rallied back and took us on quite a ride. It stung in 2013, last year’s exit stung, but Beilein is building something special. Hell, he’s already built something special. If it wasn’t for Italian Jesus, the game would’ve looked a lot different. This hurts, but I am beyond proud of our guys. Thank you seniors, and Go Blue!
Trying my best to be objective, but I don't recall any other team we've faced this year complain to the refs as demonstratively and frequeently as MSU. When you look to the sideline, you see their coach following a ref halfway down the floor telling the official what he should have called.
Players emulate coaches. It's great to have the classiest coach and team in the game right now. Really love the heart, talent, and effort of this team. Let's rest up, focus in, and go get the damn thing done tomorrow. Go Blue!
I think about that too. It speaks to how much heart the kid has and the eye for talent Beilein has. If I remember correctly, Beilein only saw him on tape. Coach B is a wizard - he gives all these guys the keys to success - up to them to take them and drive. MAAR is a perfect example of a guy who has done just that.
What a great win! A lot of credit to Beilein, but also I’m going to miss watching Rahk. Over the last few years, if we were in games going through a scoring drought, MAAR willed the ball into the basket and kept us in the game. He is a classy, tough, smart, and skilled player whose leadership will be missed. Big ups to him and all the seniors on a great year. We got work left though! Go Blue!
1st time commenter, long time lurker.
Great win; the defense, freshmen, and PG play from Z have been welcome surprises this year.
Thank God we have Coach B, one of the best developers in the game. Go Blue!

They're also a great follow on Twitter, even if only for the banter with Purdue's blog and Rutger faithful. Here's another CQ classic:

I agree. This could be the Walter White side Ace talked about - “I’m an actor...not a reactor...”
That wouldn’t be a bad t-shirt... a Beilein/Heisenberg drawing...
Ace, thank you for always making these gifs. I don't know anything about how to make them, but it's gotta be pretty tedious.
