I was on the fourth floor of Fred Taylor from 95-97 and I've never heard of the tug of war.  I did get to run The Naked Mile a few times though.  I still have the t shirt!

Training Table

I actually worked in the football/basketball training table so I can comment on what these guys eat for dinner."Training table" is just another name for a separate dining area the team had.  The menu was completely different from the South Quad cafeteria but everything came out of the same kitchen as the regualr cafeteria in South Quad.

Caveat:  I was there from 1994-1998 so the info I'm giving you is 20 years old.

The food didn't seem that much different from regular cafeteria dining.  They had the same salad bar buffet, soft serve ice ceam machine, soda dispensers, and everything was brought out in chafing dishes so they couldtake as mcuh as they wanted.  i remember lots of chicken fingers and hamburgers, sliced turkey breast, hot veggie sides, etc.  Steaks were a regular occurrence as well whch made us jealous.  No dessert other than that soft serve machine.

They had a fountain soda machine but I don't remember anyone drinking much soda.  It was mostly water and Hawaiian Punch.  Lots of Hawaiian Punch.  They also had 2% milk, chocolate milk, and orange juice.  I imiagine Harbaugh has made them add whole milk now.

I don't remember seeing any calorie counting going on or anyone checking in on what certain people were eating.  Some players were allowed to get takeout containers and take food with them.  I remember some grad assistants or trainers asking some players if they were eating enough.  These were probably guys trying to put on weight.

Cool story, bro:  Most of the players drank out of plastic pitchers (as opposed to making 4 trips to refill cups, I suppose).  Dhani Jones came in right after we mopped up a spill, had a tray with a full pitcher of Hawaiian Punch, and slipped.  We all held our breath while he was laying there and then he yelled out, "I'm gonna SUE!" and the entire place cracked up.

El Topo

I'm surprised I'm the first to mention Jodorowsky's "El Topo."  A truly unique western.

How do you get a Spartan off of your porch?  Pay for the pizza.

How do you keep a Spartan off of your porch?  Put goal posts on it.
