Pretty cool to see a kid…

Pretty cool to see a kid from Staples headed to UM. When I was there, football was terrible. I see things have changed! I believe my senior year we won one game back in the day. Staples used to send a ton of kids to UM. Hopefully that's still the case. The old swimming and math teacher, Mr Rollins, showed me the way back in 5th grade when he said, "If UM wins on Sat, no quiz, if they lose, math quiz on Monday." I think my class alone there were like 12 kids who went w me to UM. Sadly Mr Rollins passed in 2011 and I will always be thankful and credit him for planting the seed. Anyway, congrats to Jake and happy to see another Wrecker heading to UM!

KBA w 400th Win against NU

Went to UMWBB vs NU at the historic Beardsley Gym in Evanston yesterday and KBA got her 400th victory. Great venue to watch some bball. KBA and the players we met were all awesome and took pics with my son and his buddy.

Happy?

Isn't the goal here what makes your childern happy?  Selfish.

So...

your happiness is only worth "half a mill"?  For me, I'd rather see UM win National Championships then get "half a mill".  You are clearly not about being better like your tag line says.

Hmmm....

Maybe it's just me but while Harvard may open doors from a financial perspective, most if not all those folks I have met who graduated from Harvard have been pompous a-holes.  While I have met some like that from UM, it's in the minority.  I guess if it all depends on what makes you happy.  For me, I was accepted to both schools but I wanted to be part of the GO BLUE tradition and that meant more to me than financial happiness.  I can't remember the last time I saw a Harvard grad wearing their Crimson around town and saying Go Crimson to a fellow alum.  Seriously, does money really bring happiness?
