i have nothing to add in the way of look a likes, but I do look forward to these each week.  Some truly clever and hilarious comparisons!  Van Gogh is next-level!

I agree that we are going to…

I agree that we are going to have to open it up in the foreseeable future, but putting the ball in harm's way just to say we did (or do) and let them try to make a play is a fool's errand, in my opinion.

I stated in another thread that I don't believe we have guys that can get off of press coverage very well (havent seen much of it) and when the defense if playing soft and 8-10 yards off, we don't have off the charts speed. They should take what they are given.  Throw to open grass. Hand the ball off.  Play complementary football.  8-0

The offense goes through the…

The offense goes through the running game to open up the passing game, which has obviously worked very well.  The one "issue" I see, if I can pick a nit, is that the long ball thrown by McCarthy has to be placed into such a tight window due to the lack of separation from the DBs.  IIRC, there have not been too many times where the receiver is running wide open (like a JSN, Harrison, Jr., etc).  Having a WR with elite speed and skill will only help the run game even more, and vice versa.

We are deadly on the crossing routes with the TE, the sticks, slants, etc., but the downfield passing game is due to the inability of our guys to create separation.

Klatt was exactly right, as are you, sir.  The art or desire to self-scout would uncover this, and you can be sure that anyone beyond middle school coaching would pick up on this.  My take on the play calling is that the scripted portions of the game (1st drive and opening drive of second half) are set AND they work!  They look fresh, dynamic, even explosive.  After those drives, and when adjustments need made, is where it seems to fall off the rails into predictability and trudgery.

The two OC's (in my opinion) is like having two bosses.  SOMEONE has to decide what play is called and when, and maybe they know that, but having two "deciders" wont work long-term and wont work against good teams

Not true at all...I bought him the first round!

Recently in Williamsville…

Recently in Williamsville New York for my wife's class reunion.  We were sitting at a brewery when this older guy wearing the "M" hat walks in...gave him the Go Blue, and not only did he return in kind, he bought several rounds.

Additionally, while walking out of another bar, gave another really old guy wearing the "M" hat a Go Blue, and he didnt say jack!

My daughter just got…

My daughter just got accepted to the Occupational Therapy Doctorate program and the site is UM-Flint, and not AA.  Question--because it is only held at Flint, does that "affect" the perception of the degree?  would the diploma distinguish between the two?  A lot of money for a doctorate degree to get "dinged" with the Flint tag....but i could be wrong.

Sorry for the double

Sorry for the double post...was a little slow on the uptake!

From the Sporting News....

“To land my commitment, the school is going to need to have a great school legacy of football, great players and coaches ... and a great bioengineering program,” Garnett told Sporting News last year.

How's our BioEngineering program?

From the Columbus Dispatch

In its ruling to be made public this afternoon, the NCAA Committee of Infractions will levy the bowl ban and two other penalties on top of the ones the university already imposed on itself, the sources said. The NCAA will:

* Strip four more football scholarships over the next three years on top of Ohio State’s prior forfeiture of five scholarships over that span.

* Add an additional year of probation to OSU’s self-imposed two-year probation for the football program, meaning any violations through the 2013 season could draw harsher-than-normal penalties.

The NCAA also will hand a show-cause penalty to former head coach Jim Tressel for failing to report that some team members improperly sold memorabilia and for allowing ineligible players to compete throughout the 2010 season.

Bucknuts is reporting that TP

Bucknuts is reporting that TP showed up to practice yesterday in a Nissan 300Z with temporary tags!  Everyday there is further evidence that all things happen for a reason...TP goes to OSU instead of M, and assists with the implosion of their program.

LOL...

Brady Hoke is on the "short list" for the Stanford job!

I am so....

I am so....over this whole thing!  This is whole mess is circling the drain to the point where they will have to "settle" for a coach, that is, in my opinion, underwhelming.  Doesn't make him a bad guy, and doesn't make him likely to fail....just underwhelming on the surface!

Frankly, it pisses me off

Frankly, it pisses me off that DB even mentioned Tressel at all yesterday, and that people continue to talk about him coming to M.
