Thanks Brian for saying he should redshirt

Yes, it's great that he could play right away, but sooner or later, the coaches need to redshirt talent that will only improve the team marginally in the short term, but could help them much more in the future. In the absence of injuries, I hope Cole redshirts and then gone on to be a red-shirt junior and senior star, after most of the other current OL younguns have graduated.

Thanks for the coverage of soccer

Sorry that you get some crap about the coverage of the WC. Some people will always try to inflate their self-importance by trying to imply that they are more discerning than the unwashed masses, even when they know nothing about what they are criticizing. After all, I am not a hockey fan, but it would seem absurd to suggest that a game that people absolutely love is inherently boring. Like baseball, and unlike basketball, it is much harder to enjoy soccer if you know little about it. Also, like every sport, there are boring games and great games, and how much you like the sport and the treams involved makes all the difference.

I hope the trend of GREAT games in this world cup continues. It's been fun. Thanks for the coverage!

I agree completely

I'm glad someone mentioned this. The pitch was a duel blame situation, IMO (yes, Fitz should of handled it, but the pitch made it much more difficult than it should have been). In addition to being low and hard, it also came out spinning like a pinwheeel.

I'm not a fan of running pitch plays at all unless you run them at least a few times a game. It looks easy, but it takes experience to get it right, and you just can't replicate the speed and pressure of game-days in practice.

it's hard, but ...

Seth, (From one who agreed with the crowd on this, loves the Blues Brothers (I was in college at the time it first came out), has been a U-M fan for 25 years, knows a lot of Penn State fans (seems to be a lot of alums at U-M), & really appreciates the great work that Brian, you and others do at MGoBlog) I'm sry that this hit a tender spot. As someone whose hard work has been slammed many times over the years (work often taking years of effort); believe me,  I get the pearls-before-swine rage. Still, it's never a good idea to post while angry, even if justified.

Also, I admit that there were a couple of "dickish" comments above, but I just looked things over and most comments lacked vitriol and were merely a stating of opinion. People's reactions to the shirt, even if dumb, are still important information for people who are thinking about purchasing the shirt, particularly if they are not the "Deal with It" type and might not want to get it if some people will it dumb, others may find inappropriate and many will just not get the joke. It doesn't matter if it's because those people are idiots, since almost everyone is a situational idiot/Philistine/jerk.

However, I mainly wanted to say, though I'm admittedly reading between the lines, I think most of the above critics think you folks are great, and did not mean this to be personal. We of course could be wrong -- It's a Wonderful Life was not a box office success, they canceled FireFly and the cirtics only liked "Double Fantasy", which I feel is by far Lennon's best solo album, after he was killed. I'm not suggesting that you go quite that far to get us to like the shirt, tho.

Sorry to agree

Yes, I think that you missed badly on this shirt. What bothers me most is trashing an entire fanbase in way that seems to have crossed the line from funny to mean-spitited or even peavish. Unfortunately, every enthusiastic fanbase also has a generous crazy-people seating section, and Penn State's is not is my top 10 of shame.
