Dakich had a scholly his last year at UM Beilein gave Dakich a scholly that was available his senior year. He wanted PT as well as a grad scholarship. Can't blame him for that. It's not like he's going to play pro basketball.

My bad - was thinking of

Newsome.

Ulizio played this year -

Ulizio played this year - he'll be a Sophomore.

Elephant in the room

This won't be popular or politically correct - and I love the kid as much as the next guy - but when is Beilein going to be brutally honest and admit that Austin Hatch needs to be moved to medical scholarship after the season? I'm really happy he has been part of the team and achieved his dream of playing at U-M after the amount of tragedy he's been through in his young life, but basketball only has 1 available athletic scholarship for next year.  Stand by Austin with a medical scholarship so he can complete his education - make him a manager or something so he is still with the team - but going forward we need that athletic scholarship for someone who will be able to regularly play at a high level.  I am not a hater:  I wish Austin nothing but the best.

Just for fun

Lurk on Tim Kawakami's Twitter TL from the past week.  Freaking soap opera in SF and across the bridge with the Raiders too.  Jim drastically elevated his quality of life by getting out of that sh*t show. The Michigan Difference.

Yep

Without consistent scoring threats, it is far too easy for the defense to cheat and shut our scorers down.  We have no off-the-dribble threats (LeVert's handle has always been questionable) and no guys who can create down low.  Lacking shooters, lacking athletes - the cupboard is bare after the last 2 years of departures.

I think Duncan Robinson has tremendous potential - he's another Stauskas from 3-pt range.  But he alone isn't going to be enough.  Most glaring weakness is quick, athletic bigs who can intimidate defensively and get offensive boards.  We need another McGary, another JMo and another GR3.  The current "leaders" lack emotional intensity.  They're playing in pajamas, not tuxedos.

I think the talk was misconstrued

The report about Moeller receiving a text from Harbaugh about "getting the band back together" - if true - still doesn't explicitly lead to anything about Moeller joining a Harbaugh coaching staff.  Looking at it at face value, that's a big stretch.  A lot of people just automatically interpreted it one way, but that text could have been simply referring to what Harbaugh's plans were and the "band" seems more about guys who'd coached with him at USD and Stanford.
