We score 42 in the big games; why not this one? An article I read this morning kept referring to Wisconsin’s #1 defense (by total yards and against the run). We hung 38 on them at their place. A healthy Blake Corum and Andrew Anthony’s speed plus 2 strips sacks (Hutchinson and Ojabo both get one) provide the winning advantage.

Georgia scores 27 because Spencer Bennett is better than Graham Mertz.

Final score, UM 42, UGA 27.

The UM-Wisconsin game is my primary source of confidence in this one as well. We were working with some incredible field position in that game that I don't think we can count on again. And I don't think we can underestimate how atrocious UW's offense was at that point in the season. It didn't just keep them from scoring, it allowed UM to run 20 more plays than the Badgers.

That said, back then we were still burning downs with split zone and working Edwards into the game plan (hello wheel route). We put up 38 on a UGA-lite defense. 31 if you want take out JJ's late TD or adjust for other factors. And 31 points definitely wins this game right?

Michigan - 34

Georgia - 31

Defensive or Special Teams TD is the difference, as well as a missed last second field goal from GA to tie the game!

Gonna be a nail biter either way IMHO!

Go BLUE!!  BEAT GEORGIA!!

I'm predicting based on my heart and I don't care (although I was pretty damn on for my osu prediction)...

Tight game where it's 10-10 at halftime and a half of missed opportunities, solid defense, but a couple big plays for UM. Michigan comes out strong after half and it's 20-17 at the end of the third quarter and UM wins 27-24.

I really am curious how these guys (on both teams) come out. It's such a long wait and UM is coming off a high and GA a very low, low. Lot of ways this one could go from the mental aspect.

Oh believe me, I've made worse posts, like the one in which I confidently predicted that Sam McGuffie would be getting Heisman consideration by his junior season at Michigan.

And just to clear up any misconceptions, I've never called for any Michigan head coach to be fired, not even RR. Certainly not Bakich, nor Beilein, or Harbaugh, nor will I for Howard.

Want you to be wrong.

But stopping Georgia running up the middle AND future hall-of-famer TE Bowers receiving yards simultaneously seems a tall order.

And then expecting Michigan offense to be able to respond to Georgia ball control with predictable air attack if we fall behind significantly, against THAT defense... a tall order indeed.

But we have got horses too.

Michigan 20

Georgia 17.

Or a Bulldog blowout. We win if kept close.

Have to believe.

Against OSU they had more of the good fortune plays.  They had 2 amazing catches and put the ball on the ground three times and didn't lose any.  Yet we still won.  Against UGA we need the good fortune plays to go our way.

Cramps.  Lots of cramping.

literally every single team that played yesterday, even inside, had guys going down repeatedly with cramps.

cause?  A month off?  Conditioning?  Hydration/electrolytes?  Combination thereof?

It's going to be a super close game, likely low scoring if UM pulls it out.  I have absolutely been on the bandwagon that UGa's performance this year has been helped by a weaker schedule but it's still the most talented (by recruiter ranking) team in the land and has had a month to prepare.  My heart says UM wins something like 24-22 but my head says UGa by 7 or 10.  I'll go with my heart but this has been a great year and I'm not going to let this game change it one way or another.

Michigan 24, Georgia 21.

Georgia hasnt played a team even vaguely similar to Michigan.  GA's gonna get hit harder, and more often than any team has smacked them all season.  I dont care how good GA's D is, just like UM's past two games, GA's D is gonna get gassed half-way through the 3rd quarter, and UM will start running the ball with consistency, allowing UM to take the lead, and grind down the clock.

UM has played inferior, yet similar teams to GA: Wisconsin and Sparty come to mind.  GA hasnt played ANYONE like UM all season long.  GA is in for a shock when GA starts playing a team that is actually hitting them harder than they can hit back.

If we stay within one score the entire game, we win.

If we fall behind >=2 scores at any time... ugh.

But if THEY fall >=2 scores at any time... Go Blue!!!

Depends on Michigan's ability to (1) stop Georgia runs up the middle; (2) damage control on phenom TE Bowers.
