Wasn't it his pec that he tore last year? That is probably the reason. Not sure your bench gets back to 100% in a year after that.
On another note, there is this fucking annoying ad at the top of page that keeps scrolling me back up to the top no matter where I am within a thread. I don't mind the ads, but does it really need to scroll me back up to the top of the page every 30 seconds?
I just saw that Peppers had 19 and Glasgow 20 and thought "What the Hell?"
My max is 10, so I've got nothing to bitch about here. Move along.
...to the second round somebody is going to get one of the all time great second round picks. That said, no way he gets past New England. A safety who could be deployed at strong or free depending on a given play would be irresistible to a guy like Belichick.
Feel like I say this in every thread, but I can't see him not returning punts too in addition to DB if he was with New England. Cyrus Jones fell flat last year and the Pats had to use Amendola and Edelman back there.
What do people think about Peppers' 40 time? It seems slow given his reputation for speed (I wonder if he hasn't fully healed), although I'm not sure if my surprise is about his actual time or moreso that Darboh was somehow faster...
LB's. Also top vertical and broad jump. I can't remember all the names but faster than Earl Thomas and Tyrann Mathieu (sp?)
Very solid time weighing in at 213 (I think he was listed at 205 during the season). Personally, there was some blind hope that he'd hit 4.3 and shock everyone, but I'm an irrational fan. 4.46 is an excellent time and will have a lot of teams looking.
Also, the 40 takes a ton of training. Some guys just have better in-game speed. I wouldn't count Jabrill out against anyone during live action
...was that Jabrill read plays very well. He's plenty fast and his anticipation made him look even faster.
Reading plays is one of Jabrill Peppers's weaknesses. He's good at reading and reacting to the run, but there's more to reading plays than that. He's slow to react against the pass.
Well, I don't think he's dumb or incapable. A chunk of it is being used at various positions. He's a good athlete, but he's not superhuman. I think his reaction time will improve when he plays one position. But right now, it's not a strength.
To me, that sounds like Polamalu. Keep him near the LOS and he'll wreak havoc. But in coverage, he can be had. I mean in terms of skillset, not career arc. Jabrill still has control over that to a degree.
4.46 is a pretty good 40 time for DBs. I would say when individuals begin running in the 4.3s, those individuals are in elite standing. However, for Jabrill I say 4.46 is a solid time.
That sucks! His 40 and bench are lame. I ran a 4.3 the first day of 3rd grade and 25 reps of 225 at luch right after I ripped into my Caprisun and devoured my lunchable. Can't stop me son!!!
I'd say for Safety, his numbers are pretty damn good. We all know that whoever gets him is getting a great football player period. He will be great in the NFL for a long long time.
+1 if you provide a link.
Jalen Ramsey and Brandon Williams are listed as CBs on their team websites and were/are under 200 lbs. I won't pretend to have watched enough NFL football to know if they actually played safety though.
Jalen Ramsey is a corner. I'm not sure about Brandon Williams.
According to NFL.com. Link
That site, while a superb achievement in web design, has info that conflicts with the NFL.com official combine site. I would stop citing it if I were you. The NFL site is easily sortable.
I am 100% positive he goes in round one. I'll take the gushing superlatives Harbaugh and Brown gave him over internet scout chatter anyday. No chance he falls out.
19 reps? Good, not great
4.46 40? Good, not great
Couple that with him not really having a clearly defined position in college and I could easily see him falling to the top of round 2
1. Mock drafts are bullshit.
2. Mock drafts are bullshit.
is still available - I could definitely see the Patriots taking him.....he is the kind of player that they love
What coverage issues? Why are you following the media script that he can't cover? I'll bet that he'll be the best cover LB in the league, and the best cover corner, as well. He can take corner snaps when needed. He simply hadn't been asked to do so at UM, but he will be in the NFL. And he'll excel.
Per PFF:
"Through three years at Michigan he gave up 58 receptions on 93 targets and broke up six passes with no interceptions."
