Only if Harbaugh wears glasses.
September 7th, 2019 at 7:54 PM ^
Did Jim wear them last year? IF so, seemed effective!
September 7th, 2019 at 8:25 PM ^
21-3 with no glasses, 19-11 with them.
September 7th, 2019 at 7:49 PM ^
Does a bear shit in the woods?
Wisconsin has two weeks to prepare for us too, they’ve blown their last two opponents out of the water and haven’t surrendered a score, what do you think OP?
After today I’d be shocked if we kept it within two scores.
September 7th, 2019 at 8:32 PM ^
Here's what I think: pain.
September 7th, 2019 at 7:49 PM ^
Im not worried. Don’t care. Beat osu that’s all i care about. We suck rn. Hope it changes, but doubt it. Change my mind.
September 7th, 2019 at 7:58 PM ^
Do you want spoilers? Unfortunately I've seen this movie before..
September 7th, 2019 at 8:32 PM ^
Sell out to stop the run and have the QB try to beat “us” 1v1 ?
September 7th, 2019 at 9:56 PM ^
Did ya see the box score today? Wisc threw for over 400 yards.
September 7th, 2019 at 7:50 PM ^
Hard yes
September 7th, 2019 at 7:50 PM ^
I'm demanding points for any wagers. Lots of them.
September 7th, 2019 at 7:52 PM ^
W - 21
They have a score to settle.
Happy Valley? Same thing.
Run the table at home though and I'm good.
September 7th, 2019 at 7:53 PM ^
I can’t remember—were we supposed to be concerned about Army?
September 7th, 2019 at 8:09 PM ^
Notice how Dr Mantis, Magnus etc are conveniently missing since they were ever so confident against Army.
All the sunshine blowers are gone today.
September 7th, 2019 at 8:19 PM ^
That's because they're rational.
September 7th, 2019 at 8:24 PM ^
Or they realize that they were wrong about this team thus far
September 7th, 2019 at 8:35 PM ^
Michigan won...no concerns about Army
September 7th, 2019 at 8:42 PM ^
That would seem to take some humility, and some parties are rather short on that on this message board.
September 7th, 2019 at 8:24 PM ^
If you said before the game that UM would hold Army under 250 yards (including two OTs), 21 points, and 3.3 yards per rush I doubt anyone would have thought it would be a close game. But when you turn the ball over 3 times and your QB seems unwilling or unable to run on the zone read, shit can happen.
What I see are a lot of people who like to complain constantly coming out of the woodwork to crow about being "right" about Michigan struggling because apparently their view on fandom is to be smug and pessimistic most of the time so that they can enjoy the good times and feel superior to everyone else when a team loses. It's the part of the fanbase that I wish just stopped watching.
September 7th, 2019 at 8:26 PM ^
Agree 100%.
September 7th, 2019 at 8:59 PM ^
Wrong. All of you "everything is glorious" fans need to realize we aren't talking about one game. We are realists. The team sucks. Not because of the players, because of the coaches. Not just today, but last week, last year, last 5 years. It's always the same shit and you guys keep saying well we just need to correct a few things. Has that ever happened since JH got here? Have we ever improved? No and no. The truth is you "sunshine and rainbows" fans don't know shit about what really is going on or what should be going on. The coaching is horrific. You just don't know enough to see it.
September 7th, 2019 at 9:13 PM ^
Hey realist.
Was rattling off 10 wins after looking lost and losing to Notre Dame last year not real.
September 8th, 2019 at 12:15 AM ^
Just as real as OSU hanging 62 on our “amazing” defense. This staff is garbage.
But hey we’re probably just holding back, and calling it vanilla until the BIG season starts. I’m pumped!
September 7th, 2019 at 9:20 PM ^
Shut the eff up.
Seriously. Not much worse than the whiny ass bitches who claim that they are the rational realists.
I’m sure everybody just wishes they were as smart and observant as you are.
September 8th, 2019 at 2:09 AM ^
As soon as you mention “2 OTs” anyone should understand that it would be a close game right?
September 7th, 2019 at 8:34 PM ^
Come at me bro
September 7th, 2019 at 8:59 PM ^
You know this is the internet, right?
September 7th, 2019 at 9:14 PM ^
No - they're just avoiding any discourse with idiots like you.
September 7th, 2019 at 9:56 PM ^
They almost never spend time here after games, and NEVER EVER spend time here after a loss or poorly played game
September 7th, 2019 at 8:15 PM ^
No cause all the geniuses in this board have told us there’s nothing wrong, we just earned a big win, and to trust the coaches.
Why should anyone be concerned??
September 7th, 2019 at 8:45 PM ^
Plus we beat four times bowl eligible MTSU! It's truly the golden age of UM football.
September 7th, 2019 at 7:53 PM ^
They're gonna run train on us.
September 7th, 2019 at 8:36 PM ^
That’s fine, they will get 21 against our 34
September 7th, 2019 at 9:09 PM ^
34 fumbles?
September 7th, 2019 at 7:53 PM ^
Right now it's a loss and may not even watch. If they get the offense figured out in the bye week, they will have a shot. But we won't know anything until we see it.
September 7th, 2019 at 7:56 PM ^
You can’t fix systemic damage in two weeks
September 7th, 2019 at 8:57 PM ^
Nothing ever gets fixed in a bye week. This is months of prep - it won’t magically to a 180 in 2 weeks. It is what it is
all we can hope for is that Gattis actually did install something coherent and Shea settles in and stops doing the dumb things he does
September 7th, 2019 at 11:27 PM ^
Apparently you also can't fix system damage in five years.
September 7th, 2019 at 8:00 PM ^
I guarantee you are going to watch the game. You'll be over this Army performance by Wed or Thu this week and will be pumped for the Wisc game (same for me). That does not mean you're going to be glad you watched the game though (same for me). Let's hope they get their shit together during the bye week and that a health DPJ and Runyan go a long way to a productive offense.
September 7th, 2019 at 7:54 PM ^
We’re going to get buried. Absolutely no idea how anyone could think otherwise. Their offense is a nightmare match up for our defense. Our DL is going to get eaten alive. Offense looks like a lost cause unless McCaffery starts and becomes Joe Montana. Neg me if you want, but you have no evidence from what we’ve seen to have any other conclusion
September 7th, 2019 at 8:29 PM ^
People kept saying Army's offense would be a nightmare for UM and they held to under 250 total yards.
Wisconsin looks good, but USF and CMU are not good football teams by any stretch. Michigan should rightfully be an underdog going into that game but I also suspect that the UM we saw today won't be the same in two weeks.
September 7th, 2019 at 9:06 PM ^
Jonathan Taylor averaged 6 ypc last season against a much better defense before Chryst forgot that he had him on the team in the 2nd half. If Chryst force feed him like Michigan did with Charbonnet, Taylor would get at least 150 yards without a problem in a couple weeks. The only question is can Michigan offense score enough and manage the passing game especially with Chepus emerging as a legitimate WR after serving a year suspension.
Wisconsin will get their numbers on the running game. Can Michigan offense figure it out which is the big question.
September 7th, 2019 at 7:56 PM ^
Jonathan Taylor against the middle of Michigan's defense yeah that's going to be ugly
September 7th, 2019 at 7:57 PM ^
Yes, because they are the next opportunity for us to give up our perfect season.
No, because I have no control over the outcome, so why should I worry.
Harbaugh should be worried, however, seeing as how the team I've watched for two weeks probably should rightfully be a significant underdog in Madison.
However, an early season loss to Wisconsin isn't as damaging to our chances of winning the conference and making the playoffs as a late season shellacking by THE other team.
September 7th, 2019 at 8:18 PM ^
You mean the other team that just blew out a very good Cincy team and didn’t allow a single point? Lol dude that ship has sailed.
September 7th, 2019 at 8:31 PM ^
This isn't last year's Cincy team. They struggled to beat a terrible UCLA team and then got bombed by OSU.
OSU is better than Michigan, but I swear after two weeks everyone just assumes the worst.
September 7th, 2019 at 8:37 PM ^
ASSUMES the worst??
I’m sorry, but are you literally blind?? Like, 100% cannot see??
Ain’t nobody here assuming anything. We literally just witnessed the worst. The worst was just broadcast on national television.
The only person assuming here is you...assuming that we’re just saving the good stuff for the “big” games and there’s nothing to worry about and we’re the greatest team ever. Heck, you’ve probably already booked your tickets and hotel to Indianapolis.
September 7th, 2019 at 9:10 PM ^
I saw Michigan play much better defensively than I expected and suffered a ton of unforced errors against Army. If Michigan played like this against OSU or Wisconsin they'd get run off the field. But I'm not assuming that will be the same result in two weeks, and I have enough confidence in this team that they won't have a repeat of today's game.
I do have a fear that something is physically wrong with Patterson and, as a result, they can't run the offense to its full potential and, unfortunately, McCaffrey isn't up to the level the coaches are comfortable with. Because otherwise I would have assumed he would have been on the field earlier. So that's troubling, and I think that puts the ceiling for this team at 10 wins.
But I have watched enough football to understand that sometimes you just play poorly, and with a new offense and some guys out (they are still down Runyan and DPJ), bad times can happen. But they still beat a really good Army team (I don't think they'll go 11-1 or anything but another 10 win season certainly seems likely) despite having a lot of problems, some of which are systemic and some are just bad luck.
Call me a sunshine blower if you want, but I find your brand of "OMFG this is the worst!!!11!!!" reactionary bullshit to be tiresome and lazy.
September 7th, 2019 at 8:33 PM ^
We looked like world beaters last year until OSU. They looked like they have a problem. We know what happened. So I am holding out hope this year that we will.drop a game but will figure out how to beat them.
