Where are RV's parking this year?

With 100+ RV's parked at Pioneer in the past, where are they going this year?  Thinking of bringing one down for the Penn State or Michigan State game and wondering if there are other options beside park'n'party?

Hate to say it but nowhere. As it was the only two places that were really doing RV's were Pioneer (which has now banned them) and Fingerle Lumber (which sold to the University the year before the pandemic). The University absolutely won't do it and there isn't anywhere that close that's not owned by the University that is big enough to support it. The last couple of years there have been some incidents with RV's especially at Pioneer that has made it such that no one wants the liability, certainly not of overnighters but even so, with the day parkers in the RV's.  Thats why you saw the Pioneer High School statement referencing that AAPD wanted them gone. Your best bet is to see if you can find a private homeowner somewhere in the Old West Side who can fit your RV on their lawn but that said, you're going to pay out the nose because they'll charge you for what they would have made on all those parking spots.

This trend isn't limited to Ann Arbor and game day RV parking. Idiots and lawyers (not always mutually exclusive, but in this case one keeps the other employed) have caused many places to consider the risks of their parking lots being used for more than by short-term shoppers. The current spotlight case in the RV media involves Walmart, which has allowed RVers to overnight in their lots for many years. Here's a link to a non-RV-centric media source:  https://www.businessinsider.com/walmart-lawsuit-child-killed-fire-parking-lot-camping-2022-8

Is Briarwood a viable option?  Seems like they would have the space, heck, even for indoor parking in the old Sears spot.  OTOH, I can certain see why space owners are nervous about lunkheads with RVs spoiling their gig and/or being forbidden by their insurers.

I would say the Detroit / Ann Arbor KOA (yes, there is one), but it is on Bunton Road, which is south of Ypsilanti and still about 12 miles from the foot of the stadium. If you used that, you may as well stay in Belleville's few hotels and, if you can stomach the cost of a ride, get one from there. There is almost nothing which can accommodate more than a couple RVs - assuming you would be so lucky as to negotiate the space - anywhere near the stadium that isn't Pioneer or the old Fingerle lot, both of which cannot be used now.

Can’t imagine this decision being made in SEC land. It’s a huge part of their tailgate culture. I don’t know the backstory on the pioneer decision, not sure I want to.

I got an email today from Park n Party with a link/info on two more possible RV parking options:

https://www.parknparty.com/site/ann-arbor-rv-parking

They only list two locations: 524 S. Main and 218 W. Huron, and only 15 RV spots per lot. It appears overnight Friday into Saturday is an option but not Saturday overnight.

I didn't click further to see if there's still available parking listed for this Saturday, so make haste in doing so if you are interested.  They've also got the remainder of the season listed; again, I didn't look at availability for any of those dates either.
