Wheatley Jr isn't coming here unless his dad is a coach. And the chances of his dad coming here are incredibly low.

Suffice to say, he probably won't be a part of this class.

I have no knowledge from the Michigan side of things on this front, just the Wheatley side.

Other than the fact that he's a cousin of Jesse Jackson, I have no special knowledge of Fred Jackson.

I won two tickets on Twitter for front row seats which were apparently supposed to be in the Media section. My son and I showed up and the very nice ushers put us right at about the 50 yard line in a roped off section just to the right of midfield when looking at the field behind the Michigan bench.

We sat there basking in the glory of the seats for the flag football game and as that wrapped up and football players started coming out, some hot shot from the Athletic Department, had to be a GA or something, comes over to us being a dick. "You guys can't sit there that's where the recruits will be" he snarled at us and the ushers told him "no this is the media section, that's where they are supposed to sit". Hot shot GA quips "no something must have changed, those seats belong to Jabrill Peppers I think he's a little more important than some Twitter contest from the school".
Mind you he was trying to get us to move over to our left where it was also roped off where I see dads and older kids with lanyards, clearly they were recruits and families but there were only a few there at the time.
So I play it cool like, "sir clearly you have updated information where would you like us to go?" He points to the section I just mentioned and so I calmly explain to my panicking 11 year old son that we had to move and that it would likely be awesome because clearly this dude is on a power trip and has zero idea what is going on.
We sit in the second row of the section to our left this time probably around the 40 yard line.
I see all these recruits and families start coming up from field level and I can pretty much identify them by face, at least the ones I knew who committed, they also all had lanyards on with names so that helped too.
Sure as shit, they all fill in within the section we moved to.

We were within about 30 ft of Woodson, Howard, and other former players as they watched the game from field level right behind the bench. Jabrill sat directly in front of my son, Mo Ways to my son's right, who was to my right. Winovich was directly behind me.

We sat there the whole game listening to them talk about their recruiting trips and about how awed they were by the stadium. I slid over into my son, pushing him into Ways and said "it's packed tight like this for the big ones". They looked at me with wide eyes like "wow" and I'm pretty sure I saw a few twinkles.

It was pretty awesome.

Might still have a couple pictures somewhere that I can post later.

Give Harbaugh a chance to contact his dad. Harbaugh hasn't even been on the job two full days yet.

JH should be pretty busy right now. He has a staff to hire, and recruits to contact. I'm sure he is going to feel a lot better when this month is over. If anyone is capable of doing it, it's Harbaugh.

sometimes legacies feel strongly about not following in their parents footsteps .. maybe he wants to make a name for himself and not constantly be compared

It is highly unlikely his Dad will be a coach on his team, wherever he goes.

Just because no contact has been made does not mean that none has been attempted.

Maybe no contact has been attempted because the contact person is not certain if his Dad is going to be offered a spot. Maybe they are waiting for something else to play out.

This situation willlikely unfold rapidly. I'd only be disappointed if the kid said he was not coming to Michigan without hearing what they had to say.

In any event, I wish him and his Dad all the best, at Michigan, or wherever they land.

Listening to all of Sam's commentary about his recruitment going back several months, seemed pretty clear to me that the chances of Wheatley ending up in A2 were pretty slim.
