What Did You Get or Give For Christmas That was Interesting- Any Michigan Stuff?

So I took my daughters to the Ohio State game. With about 3 minutes left in the game, my youngest daughter asked me if she could go down to the front row to storm the field; to which I told her we might not even win the game. Once Moore secured the INT, I told her she could run down there.
The backstory is that she had been saying for weeks that she was going to meet J.J. McCarthy on the field. I told her that was going to be nearly impossible, but she was still going to try. She did get some great photos and pictures with Roman, Orji, Henderson, Barner and Barrett, but no J.J. She was pretty sad.

Her last gift this morning was an autographed J.J. McCarthy photo. She cried. A lot. Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!

I got a set of Michigan potholders... now my kitchen is complete.

Got a nice Three in a Row Tshirt to add to my Annoy the Local Buckeye Fans collection!

My sons got me this book by the Washington Post. It is scanned pages containing Michigan articles dating back to the 1920s. Pigskin bound and personalized. I think it has all the games Craig Ross ever attended.

The book is 14.5" x 11.5" and the scanned pages can be tough to read. After 2002, digital copies make the reproductions clearer. There are lots of other college stories on each page, which are fun to read as well.

Bought a dope vintage Michigan shirt for my 2 year old daughter on eBay that said it was for a toddler. Shirt shows up this week... and it's size adult large. Fits me perfectly and I'll be wearing it to the Rose Bowl. Christmas miracle? (Yes, I still need to find her a cool M shirt now.)

My father in law (big time MSU fan) got me a pair of Wolverine themed Crocs (I love Crocs). My wife and I went nuts on baby clothes for out SIL's upcoming baby, so watching them open her gifts was my favorite part of this holiday.

I got a gift that reminded me of a good-natured disagreement that I had with my sister-in-law several years ago. It was the classic debate between Is It? or Isn't It?

So yesterday I got this wearable statement of her opinion. And I'm duty-bound to wear it at least once in public.

I also learned a lesson: Never argue with a lawyer. Even if it takes years, they'll get the last word.

PS: It isn't!

A UAW t-shirt from the Ludington, MI branch of the UAW that my wife found at a yard sale. It's pretty much my level of weirdness.

My girls got me a Cameo by Jake Butt. It is awesome. I highly recommend this to everyone.

We've gotten to the point where tent camping is more of a trip down memory lane than a realistic option to get into the woods, so we decided to get an RV... 2023 Cherokee Wolf Pup. Merry Christmas and holy ****, I've got to learn to back this thing up without running over the neighboring campsite. 

mrs mattyblue and i saw a cool sweatshirt at one of the m-den trailers on the michigan stadium concourse after the purdue game, but it was late and we were ready to go, so i snapped a photo and put it off to purchase later for her for xmas.

fast forward a couple weeks, and i couldn't find it anywhere through m-den.  it wasn't on the website, tried the main store, hit the mini-stores inside crisler, showed store folks the photos, the whole nine yards, before giving up entirely.

fast forward again, and i'm standing in line a dick's sporting goods on saturday, and there they are, hanging with all of the michigan merch.  i'd figured m-den was my best shot, but got lucky, late.

moral - yes, i'll always go with m-den and underground printing first, but don't give up on the big retailers.

In lieu of wrapped gifts, my wife and I are trekking to Iceland in a few months.    I think I already regret that we're only going for a week (unless volcanoes wreak havoc on air travel!).

My daughter gave me a tee shirt that says “YOU CAN’T SPELL DUMB FUCKS WITHOUT B-U-C-K-S”

I took my daughter to the Michigan - Maryland game, our 1,000th win.  So we got matching Michigan 1,000 Win T-shirts for Christmas.  They're very nice.
