What are You doing TODAY to help beat Ohio State?

My hope is that the players are working as hard every day as they did the past 2 years.

I know superstition isn't real, but focus on superstition reflects intensity and commitment.

Two years ago I dug the same message in the beach here at Myrtle Beach.

Today, despite the cold weather, lack of sun and intermittent rain.. my kids and I did our part.

Thread title worried me that it would be a very different post, but I am all for superstition having grown up a hockey fan. I am saving my mgoblog-issued "allez les bleus" tshirt for Saturday (almost insanely put it on today). The only times I haven't worn it recently were for Bowling Green and Maryland. Never again.

I prayed.

“Our Father in Heaven, before we go into battle, every soldier among us will approach you each in his own way. Our enemies too, according to their own understanding, will ask for protection and for victory… ignore their heathen prayers and help us blow those little bastards straight to Hell. Amen.”

Car is packed and ready for a 5:30 a.m. lift off! Tonight will be easy on the bourbon a little heavier on the lemon and honey for a soothing night followed by screaming like hell tomorrow! Let's make them take a few illegal procedures tomorrow! If we can get the crowd to do one two three or four of those then we have done our part. Hoping the drive from Fort Wayne is uneventful, that we meet no deer in our path and that tomorrow when we leave we will do so with a big Michigan victory!  GO BLUE!!

Well- we've got our clothes for the watch party all set, for starters. For the last two years, I've worn a maize and blue flannel shirt for the game. It's not an officially branded one, but the colors work great, and it's my best fitting flannel shirt to boot. I've worn it on other regular days, but not on game days. I'm pairing it with this awesome pair of jeans- dark blue, but with a golden turmeric dye interior (I'm a raw denim nerd). Maize and blue all the way. My wife has a pair of maize leggings, a grey t-shirt with the lyrics to The Victors, and a big Michigan hoodie.

We're making a really cool Thai iced tea rum punch to bring to the watch party at our buddy's place tomorrow- that's pretty much all set. I've also got a Michigan teddy bear that we're bringing, for all of our panic attack hugging needs. I've got a hunch that he'll come I'm handy.

Not today, but tomorrow. I’m not watching the game live. Last two years I wasn’t able to watch live due to commitments for the kids. While I have time tomorrow, I’ve chosen to fill it with time with my kids, just like last 2 years. If it ain’t broken…

I haven't watched the Game since 2011, and although that might not inspire confidence given our overall record, I also didn't watch the last two years, so have to keep that streak intact. Can't change it up now. As an aside, I've checked an online Magic Eight Ball site every day this week, asking the same question: Will Michigan beat Ohio State this weekend? I allowed myself one turn each day (no second turn if I didn't like the answer). I'll do it again tomorrow, and after the game, I'll share my results. Looking forward to MGoTarot tomorrow, too.

I made sure that my kids had their maize and blue gear cleaned and dried for tomorrow. They're sitting upstairs, neatly folded, waiting for tomorrow.

I also have a standing bet/trophy with a Buckeye family friend. She and her family are the only Buckeyes I truly like as people, and we bet a dollar years ago on The Game. The winner keeps the dollar and writes the score on the dollar somewhere. So what I guess I'm trying to say is....

BET!

Packing up today to leave early AM for the three-hour drive down the mountain to a buddy’s in Boulder.  Watching with our families while enjoying something off the smoker has apparently pleased those in Football’s Valhalla over the last 30 years.

Snowing pretty hard here so if I make it there I’ll have no problem justifying drinking early when I do.
