What's going on at UM's football practice?

Submitted by Chadillac Grillz on
So far we've had three practices, but I haven't heard much beyond the first practice in terms of notes/observations. Does anybody have any general information? How's is the quarterback competition looking? The DB's? Lineman? Anybody that wants to throw me a nugget has my gratitude...

There are all these dark-skinned kids with nappy long hair, singing and dancing about, with popular music blaring from these demonic sound-making devices! I swear, Bo would have never allowed any of it.

I think for once, it might be a good thing that we haven't heard anything out of the football camp. A silent spring practice is warranted. No news is good news as they say.

with the "Five Questions with..." series?!? http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/fbl-spring-game-2010.ht… plus you can watch the video of the Night Game announcement and hear RR and David Brandon say it's about getting exposure during TV PrimeTime and the exposure of a National TV audience. best line ever to stamp on this era, "I don't talk the past, I make the future" anyway, the point being MGoBlue.com usually has some pretty good info.

Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes! Volcanoes! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!

I guess sincere, uh, "thank you" must go out to Rosenberg, Snyder, Sharp, Carty, and Birkett for making the athletic department decide "transparency" isn't a good idea. If it wasn't for them and their unethical "journalism" practices, we would have all the info we could possibly want coming out of practice. So, to the aforementioned reporters: "thank" you.

Personally, I have 2 issues: 1) mgoblue isn't putting up the info they're "promising" like practice notes. I know this is not great insider info but it's better than nothing. 2) I think freedom of press is a very important check and balance but I wish they were free from being idiots. I think we can all see why Carr played it so close to the chest (not vest because "vest" = bad). Granted he was from a different time but he also knew how the press distorts words and abuses access. I can't wait until RR can legitimately not have to answer ridiculous questions because his track record speaks for itself (he should have handled Dorsey questions better, IMO, but eventually he can, "We do our homework. Next question." or whatever).

"he should have handled Dorsey questions better, IMO, but eventually he can, "We do our homework. Next question." or whatever)." He probably should have said "Well..We do our homework, and Demar is a guy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, he was just a kid and sometimes we forget that" "We talked to his family and just got the perspective from his family and coach that he has put these things behind him ,and after all he was acquitted..so myself and the rest of the staff feel comfortable taking what might be perceived as a risk on a kid we think is not only very talented but also has better character than the situations he was involved in reflect." Also, Dorsey's situation was in itself more transparent than Justin Feagin's so apples and oranges. If they still interrupted and were rude (which they probably would have been) he should stay non-chalant and still direct. He doesn't need to feed them or give them many warnings. Just tell them he'll shut this crap down if they don't let up. This is why we all LOVE that Dave B(r)andon is the new AD cuz he'll handle it the same. He won't tolerate BS from people that he doesn't have to...just one man's thoughts.
