Weekend Betting
I realize there was a betting thread earlier this week, but wanted to keep up the tradition of last year and have a thread every Friday night to look at any lines they want to discuss and/or use it to track your picks for the season if you wish, which I plan to do like last season. Please post your bets, what you're thinking of betting, or whatever to do with betting for this weekend's slate of games. I'll start:
Friday night (tonight)
Purdue at Nevada- 9:30pm: Nevada +11
Saturday night:
Louisiana Tech at Texas - 8pm Louisiana Tech +20.5
Virginia Tech at Boston College - 4pm: Boston College +4.5
Virginia at Pitt - 7:30pm: Virginia +3 (-120)
Miami (OH) at Iowa - 7:30pm: Under 47
South Carolina at North Carolina (Charlotte , NC being played) - 3:30pm: Under 63

Michigan currently sits as a -34.5 point favorite on Middle Tennessee St. Over/Under is 54
Michigan State currently sits at a -23.5 point favorite over Tulsa (at MSU) - just kicked off
Ohio St currently sits as a -27.5 point favorite over FAU (at Ohio St)
Notre Dame currently sits as a -18 point favorite over Louisville (at Notre Dame)
Auburn currently sits as a -4 point favorite over Oregon (game played in Texas)

From what I remember, your picks were pretty solid last year, but the way you list teams as a negative point favorite makes me laugh every time.

Oregon ML is oozing with value at +150. Definitely worth a wager considering they have a real QB. I’m on it for 3 beans.

I would take Auburn straight up. Pac-12 is garbage and Oregon looked like poop against Sparty.
I like the over in our game. I think we'll put up points and MTSU will probably get at least 10 points.
O/U seems a bit high in the SC/UNC game. I'd take the under there.

For our game, I didn't look at the lines earlier enough this year (week 1 lines of course are always out way early) and Michigan was a -20.5 point first half favorite at one point, which I would've taken if I saw in time, but this week it's been at -22 so I am passing

Today I got Tulsa +23.5 for a small bet only because Mork has never covered when a 20+ favorite and is 2-8 ats in week one.
Got the over on USU team points at 27.5 and will put a good amount on Michigan going over 43.5. not sure what else I'll bet tomorrow.

Since I placed my Futures this past week, I'm only in for 1 game. Michigan -34.5. We have 2 qbs that will be playing and trying to keep/win the job. I expect late scoring from us. No slow down.

I'm an old man.
I bet every year, less than one weekend per year. (Only when I see what I think is a strong opportunity, not out of habit, or emotion)
I've always been very successful-2/3 or better.
With that being said: Double it. The -34.5 is the best on the board. They are opening the offense, going up tempo, with 2 qualified QBs and a serviceable defense.
I'd take the over 21 in the first half.
They will cover with ease, and it will be the biggest win over the spread for week one.

Boise st +200 on the ML is begging for a few notes. FSU has proven to be trash with shifted lines due to the name on the jersey, and the game got weird by being moved to Tallahassee. Line moved 3 points when the game was moved. I see a ton of value in Boise.
