Because...yeah. Edit: I didn't make this....interesting....thread title. Mine was a bit more straightforward. From Seth's internal monologue below, I'm guessing him.

I'll say it:  John Beilein is not a great coach in a close game with under a minute left.

And it's compounded by the fact that these guys looked unprepared, disinterested, and totally outcoached for all but the first two minutes of the second half.

You're not going to get a call on the road in this conference.  You're especially not going to get a call on the road when the home team is surging to upset a top-5 team.  That's a given.  It's how you react to it that counts.  And Coach had this team totally undermatched to meet the challenge.

Disappointing.  I thought we were past this kind of garbage.

I'm begining to think John Beilein is a good coach and not a great coach, period. This team has regressed, and it's not just this game. Where's the learning? Where's the mental preparation for this part of the season? I know: freshman. But they're not all freshmen. Great coaches build on the season. that hasn't really happened here. Can anyone here say that the past month, even in games won, you've seen this team make great strides with problems they had at the beginning of the season?

They might not all be freshman but they only run a 9 man rotation out there and 5 are freshman. One of the non-freshman was and still is hobbled by a really bad ankle sprain. He is not going to be 100% for a while; ankle sprains linger and the ligaments and tendons are always more prone to spraining. The team is still very young and inexperienced. And have they really regressed? We barely beat Pitt and NC State. In both those wins, we also had the benefit of a poor call in our favor to help stave off the comebacks. Even early on in the season, we had poor starts or poor halves of a game. It seems and seemed that so much of our ability to win games depended on our 3 point shooting, which we are losing as Stauskas is going through a slump. Maybe this is just a slump with some poor play, slopping possessions, a shooting slump, and the wear and tear of the Big Ten season, and we are losing our ability to overcome these setbacks.

Although I did not get to watch the game tonight, it has seemed our defense has regressed or maybe teams have identified our weaknesses and how to attack them, particularly the freshman. Maybe we cannot keep masking that 4 of our top 7 players are freshman who are not in as good of shape as all non-freshman. We will see in the next couple of games.

I'm not sure about this. Remember the UCLA game when we clinched it on a beautiful backdoor pass to DeShawn Sims? We have had trouble in end-of-half situations the last two years, though. I don't know what the deal is about that. Beilein's better than just asking his PG to play hero ball every possession. It's hard to understand.

I mean, it's Basketball 101 stuff out there.  Any middle school basketball coach knows to foul sooner than 13 seconds into a possession with under a minute left on the clock.  Any middle school basketball coach knows not to let a Wisconsin player walk to midcourt and launch a three with under five seconds left when a quick foul probably ends the damn game.

It's like kryptonite for this guy.  Inside a minute, he completely loses the plot on things that should be totally basic.  And this isn't a new development, either.

Some of it might be on Burke.  He is a fantastic player and normally a pretty great distributor, but it seems like at the end of a game he wants to do too much by himself and doesn't look enough for his teammates.

In that Stu shot against MSU, Morris penetrated but then kicked it back out to Stu for the open three.  I feel like Burke, in the same situation, maybe would have tried to take a contested shot there.

This has to be on Beilein. Get your players ready to play. Get them to play defense. Get them to show some fucking emotion. We now know that the defense being bad was not because of Jordan Morgan's absense. Unbelievable. Fucking fuck.

Well actually

fuck this team. they deserved that. I dont care if theyre college kids and theyre trying. Im sure theyre not happy about it either, but I couldnt give a flying fuck. I liked Beilein. That whole team can eat shit now

We can never seem the win a game when something big is for the taking. Earlier this year it was the #1 ranking, then 1st place in the Big Ten, and now a chance to take the title, and play like absolute shit. Young guys get way too ahead of themselves. Oh and all those joke charge calls didn't help either.

I said this "teams SUCKS on the road (which is true) and will be lucky to make the round of 32.

I didn't say "this team SUCKS and that is why we will be lucky to make it to the round of 32".

It's OK though, we are all pissed off about this debacle and are letting off some steam.

I am starting to question Beilein's coaching approach for big games and road games. UM does not show up and become one dimensional through Burke. And don't tell me about how young this team is; they just got beat by the worst team in the conference. The fact that PSU took over the game after being down 15 is inexcusable. It seems to me that UM was content to sit around the rest of the game instead of continuing to attack.

I hope that Beilein realizes his team isn't good enough to go into cruise control at any time during a game and adjusts his strategy accordingly.

Tim Hardaway Jr. wants to appologize a few weeks ago?  The whole damn team better appologizing to themselves for that piss poor performance.  I can't believe what I just saw.  This team doesn't deserve a #1 seed.  We just lost to a team that is garbage.  We're worse.  What have we done to prove we're a great team?  Hell, even a good team?  NOTHING.  I hope we drop out of the top 15, maybe that'll get these boys heads on straight.  Absolutely disgusting.  This team takes nights off.  It is obvious.  Absolutely vile, stinking, trash performance.
