Looks like Kim Barnes Arico's highest rated recruiting class has signed their letters of intent: https://mgoblue.com/news/2023/11/8/womens-basketball-wolverines-sign-five-to-national-letters-of-intent
This includes:
- Olivia Olson (5-star)
- Syla Swords (5-star)
- Mila Holloway (4-star)
- Te'Yala Delfosse (3-star)
- Aaiyanna Dunbar
A short bio of each player is available at the link.

Nice! I knew they had a solid group coming in but I didn't realize that two of them were 5*. KBA just signed a contract extension too so the recent success should (hopefully) continue with the WBB.
Syla Swords is a high seed on the All-Name bracket too.

There are definitely some good names there. Te'Yala Delfosse has some potential for a character in a thriller that involves high-stakes corporate espionage.

Syla Swords could be a character in a steampunk techno-thriller

The sister named Savvy Swords is perfect for the scenario.

The future is bright for WBB! It's great to see KBA building on her already established success.

Fantastic news. Congratulations and wishes for a very rewarding undergraduate career for each of these new members of the Michigan family.
Go Blue!

We coulda had a thing going with Olivia Olson and Syla Swords but noooooooo, the rest of the recruits just HAD to use different initials for their first and last names.
/ Syla Swords almost certainly has no relation to Sam Sword, but they should probably team up for an action movie poster or something. Preferably with swords.

So what you're saying is that the last few years, while being some of the best in WBB history, are the new floor?
I can live with that.

Go, KBA!
Go, WBB!
Go, Blue!

Welcome aboard!

Olson and Swords are both top 15 recruits.

Looks like Olson is all the keeper on her HS soccer team. Another all-around athlete. Gotta love it.
Also, crazy to me that these kids are the same age as my daughter who is definitely not so athletically gifted lol

What KBA is doing is incredible. She's building a legacy at Michigan which eventually could rank with Hutch, Bo, and Berenson.
November 8th, 2023 at 10:12 PM ^
So far she's a long way from Hutch, Bo and Red. She's only won 1 WNIT in 10 years. The future looks bright but let's not get carried away.

it's a big class, but we're probably looking at a lot of turnover next season...hansen and brett will be out of eligibility, and four more seniors (taylor williams, cam williams, elise stuck, and whitney sollom) that have covid years available.
i don't know that we're done, either, for what it's worth. i know we were in on naz hillmon clone, zania socka-nguemen as of friday (she picked ucla). there are still a lot of top-100s out there, too.
in any case - yes, certainly one of the two best classes in program history, rivaled only by the naz hillmon / danielle rauch, amy dilk / emily kiser class...and that class wasn't this highly ranked coming in. espn currently has us as the #4 class in the country (!):
also - syla swords' sister, savvy swords, is currently the #13 in the 2026 class.

While I would never say never, feels like they're done. The rest of the top 100 on ESPN was listed with their finalist and none of them have Michigan. Vivian Iwuchukwu had Michigan in her final seven, but I guess not in the final five.

This is a monster class. From what I've read about Delfosse she could be seriously underrated. The future looks very bright.

Hell yeah!!!

Team ascending ...

But what rules did we break to make this happen? Sorry - I’m just suffering from Spygate fatigue, like everyone else. This is truly wonderful news. Coach is doing a terrific job in every way. Leaders and Best.
