WBB destroys Xavier, 92-54

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Michigan took on Xavier tonight in women's basketball, the night before both schools will meet on the same floor in the men's game.

Let's just hope the Men of Michigan can follow the women's lead.

The Wolverines blitzed the Musketeers. 5 Wolverines scored in double figures, including 4 out of the Michigan starting 5 (Flaherty, Dunston, Thome, Ristovski with Munger coming off of the bench).

Another stellar 2nd quarter by Michigan powered them to another rout. Michigan outscored Xavier 24-6 in the 2nd to take a 49-20 halftime lead.

What Michigan lost in a post precence with Cyesha Goree graduating has been offset with the amount of scoring weapons they have on this team. The best recruiting class in program history has already showed itself accounting for 42% of Michigan's 270 points scored this season.

Michigan is now 3-0, averaging 90 PPG. They'll face South Carolina Upstate on Monday at home.

We should beat Xavier. We are a very deep team this year and were at home. The team last year had so many injured yet we competed in almost every game. Hoping for a 8 point win

That being said, we deserve some respect on this board with two stud players from Detroit and several players that Michigan recruited. Not to mention we are coming off a Sweet 16 campaign competing with Arizona with most players returning while Michigan turned down a bid for the CBI....Xavier by 10.

Undefeated since 1973! It's always fun when the XU club team beats tOSU's club team. I'm a lifetime Michigan football fan who went to three home games this season. In all honesty I'll gladly rather take two Sweet 16 berths as an undergraduate than have to deal with the Rich Rod/Hoke era...I'm proud of my school choice.

It is great to see the women's hoops team sit at 3-0. Let's hope they continue this for the whole season and build on it over the next few years. Here's to Michigan becoming a power in women's b-ball. Go blue!

Although a huge Meechigan fan, I started following Xavier a few years ago when Brad Redford of Frankenmuth took his 3-point shooting show to Xavier. And then I had more interest when they recruited Jalen Reynolds out of Detroit and Edmond Sumner out of Detroit Country Day. Reynolds is now making an impact as a highly athletic dunking machine. Sumner red-shirted last year, his freshman year, but has grown 3 inches since high school and has been a very impressive as a 6'6" guard. So, hopefully it will be a competitive game.
