Wayne Morgan Announcing June 1st
From ESPN:
ESPNU 150 Watch List cornerback Wayne Morgan (Brooklyn, N.Y./Erasmus Hall) will announce his college choice on June 1, according to Erasmus Hall coach Danny Lundberg. Morgan has offers from Alabama, Boston College, Connecticut, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Penn State, Rutgers and Syracuse. However, Lundberg said Morgan will not be attending college in the Northeast.
Cue picture of Montgomery Burns fiendishly rubbing together his hands.
Is not in the Northeast.... OH Yeah, baby. WMorgan would look good in a maize & blue uni. !!!
hell, compared to most of those schools we're in the west
"Champions of..."
No, I think it's "The legends and best!"
...I think you may have misread the comment...
West in Miami's case, at least.
Not going to college in the northeast?
Hello: Wayne Morgan!
Not going to college in the northeast?
Hello: Wayne Morgan!
His top 2 are Michigan and Rutgers, and he's not going to school in the Northeast?
Um...
My thoughts exactly.
The Northeast generally would include New York and New Jersey. Maybe even Pennsylvania if you want to go that far. This leaves us with only 4 schools (Michigan, Alabama, Miami, and Maryland).
However, maybe the coach was referring to the Atlantic Northeast which is only New England + part of Canada and only eliminates UConn and BC from that list of schools.
Either way, best of luck to the young man and I hope he goes Blue!
Let's let the kid have his announcement, even if we're all going to guess that he is our silent commit.
Yes please. That is why I just blockquoted it and did not add any commentary. I believe (and seriously hope) that everyone here is smart enough to figure it out without the need to say it.
Some people choose not to follow recruiting that obsessively.
How does one need to follow recuriting "obsessively" to know that we have a silent commit? Or am i just completely missing your point?
Wolvercane is calling the hints on this thread that Morgan is the silent commit frivolous because it's so obvious that actually saying it is almost redundant and if anyone hasn't put together the pieces they're stupid. My point is that it's not a question of intelligence, it's a question of how devoted you are in following recruiting.
Idle speculation is very different than knowing confirmation. I'm sitting on my couch in South Bend, I have no information that is not very publicly available, and no one has ever relayed one of my 'rumors' to anyone else. I doubt he'd mind if I opined a bit.
What he needs is for people 'in the know' to be more TomVH and less Dayton Daily News.
Right, but it takes just one of these insiders that is more concerned with getting the scoop than the kid's moment to ruin it early. See Sean Scherer (247Sports RCMB Staff) reporting the James Ross UM verbal the night before his announcement.
have seedy speculation...informed or not...the TomVHs are too few and well...there are no other TomVHs...things can change for these kids as well...like we need to be reminded of past silents that didn't commit...well ok maybe we do... Tony Grimes...ouch...Sean Parker...ouch...the list goes on...
This is why most kids talk to TomVH. He strikes the perfect balance of being informative to fans without ruining the kid's moment in the sun.
Edit: Blue in South Bend beat me to my point. +1 normal moderation to you sir.
While I believe you, I was wondering if there was a link to the article?
I see why you didn't put up the link.... sadly I am not an insider
look on magazine deal sites for ESPN the magazine offers. i pay $3 a year for the mag and insider access
I have heard some say it does, and some say it doesn't. I'm cheap. I want my $3 to bring $50 of value...
Bevel $47 of guilt here, right?
The Mag has a full page ad every time talking about how if you subscribe to the Mag you get insider access and the Ipad app, etc.
MGoDroid double post
It is behind paywall, but here it is: http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/blog?name=brown_roger&id=6580657
It also talks about Devin Fuller (QB/Athlete from NJ), but it does not mention Michigan at all.
"However, Lundberg said Morgan will not be attending college in the Not Ann Arbor"
This is how I read it.
I also read it as "Well, Lumberg fucked her."
His children would have hooves
...What?
I think he meant to say that he hopes that Wayne isn't the silent commit but still commits to Michigan, which would mean we would have two more commits.
That's what I got out of it, as well. +1 Insightful to you for parsing that mess, sir.
pretty good chance he's the silent commit.
to play safety or corner?
Believe for corner but he could probably play either position.
Hoping Wayne is indeed the silent commit. Man this new staff can recruit!
My two cents is that Morgan projects as a FS.
Looks like the recruits are coming in pairs again. This one being a little bit after Terry's committment.
... I've been coming back to this site every 5 minutes for the "Hello" post associated with the silent commit. I can now wait until Monday.
Maybe every ten minutes now.
Gee...I wonder who the silent commitment is???
