Wayne Morgan Announcing June 1st

Submitted by Wolvercane on

From ESPN:

ESPNU 150 Watch List cornerback Wayne Morgan (Brooklyn, N.Y./Erasmus Hall) will announce his college choice on June 1, according to Erasmus Hall coach Danny Lundberg. Morgan has offers from Alabama, Boston College, Connecticut, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Penn State, Rutgers and Syracuse. However, Lundberg said Morgan will not be attending college in the Northeast.

The Northeast generally would include New York and New Jersey.  Maybe even Pennsylvania if you want to go that far.  This leaves us with only 4 schools (Michigan, Alabama, Miami, and Maryland).

However, maybe the coach was referring to the Atlantic Northeast which is only New England + part of Canada and only eliminates UConn and BC from that list of schools.

Either way, best of luck to the young man and I hope he goes Blue!

Wolvercane is calling the hints on this thread that Morgan is the silent commit frivolous because it's so obvious that actually saying it is almost redundant and if anyone hasn't put together the pieces they're stupid. My point is that it's not a question of intelligence, it's a question of how devoted you are in following recruiting.

Idle speculation is very different than knowing confirmation.  I'm sitting on my couch in South Bend, I have no information that is not very publicly available, and no one has ever relayed one of my 'rumors' to anyone else.  I doubt he'd mind if I opined a bit.

What he needs is for people 'in the know' to be more TomVH and less Dayton Daily News.

Right, but it takes just one of these insiders that is more concerned with getting the scoop than the kid's moment to ruin it early.  See Sean Scherer (247Sports RCMB Staff) reporting the James Ross UM verbal the night before his announcement.

have seedy speculation...informed or not...the TomVHs are too few and well...there are no other TomVHs...things can change for these kids as well...like we need to be reminded of past silents that didn't commit...well ok maybe we do... Tony Grimes...ouch...Sean Parker...ouch...the list goes on...

This is why most kids talk to TomVH. He strikes the perfect balance of being informative to fans without ruining the kid's moment in the sun.

Edit: Blue in South Bend beat me to my point. +1 normal moderation to you sir.
