Nice! It's not every day you see a reference to a 70's commercial for bad perfume.
+1 to you, sir.

would have been to not acknowledge him and continue to feed his celebrity. He loved the attention he got for the murders more than anything else. His desire to be famous was not only achieved, but was continuously fed throughout his life by the medias continued fascination with all things Manson.
Once parasites like him are locked away, we should let the memory of them wither away in isolation as well.
Just my two cents worth.

You're fighting the good fight but the True Crime Industrial Complex will always win.

alone. And the idea that he was some crazy murderous cult leader who gave orders to a gaggle of drug-crazed women who did his bidding for him was a neat lifetime cover story for a murderous rampage that hid a deeper, more sinister backround to his mid-60's killing spree in southern California.
As serial killers go, Manson and Son of Sam's David Berkowitz managed to live longer in prison than most do outside. Berkowitz, a born-again Christian, has found his way behind bars. Manson never did.
But both were connected by the same Satanic ideals that motivated their infamous notoriety and acts a long time ago.

He was never getting out so this is pretty much a non-event. Some of the others are more interesting, particularly Leslie Van Houten, who has been a model prisoner for decades but never granted parole. If she ever got out that would be a story.

Neil Young met Manson before Manson's crime spree. Manson was an aspiring musician, and Young was impressed by him. I think Young even tried to land Manson a record deal.

appeared on the Beach Boys 20/20 album.
Manson was also one of the finalists to be one of the Monkees.
Gun N Roses also recorded Get In Your Game Girl written by Manson.
So not really that odd.

It's pretty common for a peson to have a brush with musical fame that includes hanging out with rock legends, become the leader of a cult, orchestrate a murder spree (inluding the murder of a famous director's wife), and become a household name in the process. Nothing to see here, folks.
