Way OT: Lions cut Eric Ebron
Don't know how to embed, but his release saves the Lions $8.25 million, enough to sign a decent free agent. Ebron was coming on at the end of last year, but considering who he was drafted ahead of, he was one of the larger draft disappointments the Lions had under Mayhew.

of past Lions high draft picks who never amounted to much. There can't be a worse franchise over the last 40-50 years in regards to poor drafting. Maybe the Browns are close.
You could be right, they landed 3 hall of fame type guys by "falling in their laps" Barry,Calvin and Suh
Every team has a list of guys they passed on ,but the Lions have to have a list 2nd to none
Hate to say it but everytime they threw to Ebron I cringed.. He was one of the worst in the NFL for dropped passes for > 50 passes last year.
Ebron had 1 good game second half of the season
10 catches for 94 yards and he fumbled inside the 2 yard line..
the other 7 games in the second half last year :
21 rep (on 40 targets) 283 yds rec scored 3 TDs
he had one game with 94 yds rec another with 83 yds rec ,the rest of the year he avg like 24 yards per game.
His 53 rec on 83 targets were far and away the worst % in NFL and he once again lead the NFL in dropped passes and he comes off the field on short yardage run plays
He has 5 TD in his past 38 games on an offense that throws the ball 50 times a game
This was 100% a wasted top 10 pick
He has outstanding hands.
I heard they threw contract at him, but he dropped it.
he was pretty bad anyway. way to many question marks to be drafted where the lions took him. wasted pick. but kinda used to that with the lions.
