Professor Thom's (East Village) is the most usually named. The crowd is very young. If you want the somewhat more mature crowd, Brother Jimmy's (Union Sq.) is a good bet.
That said, I imagine it will be highly televised and you could get it just about anywhere. These are the two places that typically advertise themselves as Michigan bars.
Edit: I am seeing that Brother Jimmy's in Union Square is permanently closed. You could try one of their other locations, but it's a gamble. I don't recommend Professor Thom's unless you are 23-26 and want to be sandwiched all night between a bunch of other 23-26 year olds.

Professors Thoms is done unfortunately. But Triona's is one bar that has a pretty solid crowd. Went there for Penn state.

Wow! Both Michigan bars closed from COVID. I'm sensing a business opportunity if anyone wants to give me, say, $500,000 seed capital.

don't really hear much about step-brother Bill's, 3rd cousin Corey's, or mother-in-law Lucy's these days.

Blue Haven East is also the alumni association bar in Murray Hill.
RIP Thoms

As many have said, the old stalwarts (Prof. Thoms & Brother Jimmy's in USQ) have closed in Covid. Two new alumni bars have since sprouted:
Blue Haven on 3rd Ave. (not to be confused with their other location on Houston St.) and Shaffer's on 8th ave. Both have ample space (though best to get there early or reserve a table) and have a good crowd for big games.
Aside from geography, not much separates them - though I do have a soft spot for Shaffer's wings -I'd suggest going to the bar that is closer/logistically easier for you.
