Is Warde working on Bakich's raise?

Is Warde working on Bakich's raise? It would really suck to lose him to a Pac 12 or SEC school willing to invest more into their baseball program. I realize that it is around the 4th of July but it has been over a week since the end of the baseball season with no word about any negotiations.

yes, why hasn't warde manuel made an announcement to you, internet dipstick, about whether he is negotiating a new contract with one of his employees?

I’ll take responsibility for this post guys. Just a few minutes earlier I made a wish for more content on the board, given the relative lack of it the past few days.  Serves me right for not being more prescriptive in my wish, specifying my desire for good content.

I am sure he is but I do not think there is a big rush in terms of losing him this year.

Notre Dame is/was the only P5 school with an opening after the season once FSU was resolved.  Although they are technically in the ACC, Bakich has put himself in a position to take a top tier ACC/SEC/PAC job If and when he decides to leave M and I just don’t see ND as that team.

There are only 4 coaching vacancies in all of D1 right now.  Two of them (Bryant and IUPU-Fort Wayne) are non-starters.  The other two (Louisiana-Lafayette and Notre Dame) are schools that would absolutely contact Bakich.

Notre Dame would be, to be blunt, a stupid move for him.  Worse facilities in a worse city and a conference where the school will hold a permanent disadvantage.  The only advantage would be the fact that he has recruited Chicago & Indianapolis heavily throughout his career here, and ND has a money cannon and a not-so-secret desire to annoy Michigan whenever possible.

Louisiana would certainly be interested too, but I really don't have a feel for what they want or whether they are able to afford him.

I hate asking for raises. I hate it when people ask me for a raise. Of course, I'm not connected with anyone that just took their northern college baseball team to a lead in the championship game of the College World Series. So maybe I lack perspective or scale in this discussion.

These things take time, pal. Bakich himself has said he wants to stay, and Warde would never let this man slip through his fingers. Warde is much smarter than many on this board (including myself) have given him credit for. I’ve bashed on him many times for the ND scheduling debacle. But those are small potatoes in the grand scheme.

A deal WILL he worked out. Don’t worry about it.

Damn dude, take a chill pill...Why are you so concerned about Eric’s salary?  They are grown men, they’ll figure it out.
