Visitors this weekend

Michigan is getting some high-level visitors this week/weekend. The top guy is probably offensive tackle Samson Okunlola, a 5-star prospect from New England. They also got a visit earlier this week from a borderline 5-star Georgia tight end in Landen Thomas for the class of 2024.

Michigan also got a visit this week from 2023 tight end commit Andrew Rappleyea, who is rumored to be fielding renewed interest from the likes of Boston College and Penn State.

Here's the link if you're interested in the list I have put together (LINK), though I'm in the process of continuing to add to it with guys who are there today.

What is your take on this?  Do you think it's more him not wanting to leave the Northeast or more Michigan's interest waning?

I have to think the consideration of Boston College is nothing more than a "what if I want to stay close to home?" scenario.

On the other hand, in general, I feel like Michigan's recruiting situation has slowed down a little bit because of Harbaugh's dalliance with the NFL. I think that might have given some recruits pause, and perhaps other schools are using that as a negative recruiting tactic.

Sam Webb and Steve Lorenz said on the Michigan Recruiting Insider that they believe that the Penn State interest is a result of Franklin negative recruiting Michigan about the Harbaugh/NFL flirtation, which is ironic considering Franklin threatens to leave every offseason

Andrew Rappleyea just visited Florida and came away with an offer.

Anyone from the south that visits this weekend hopefully brought some cold weather gear. Mother Nature didn't do us any favors. At least they got to see some snow this morning I guess (which might be a novelty to someone who grew up in the south.)

Josh Conerly, pretty much the last man standing from the class of '22 is announcing on April 8 at 9pm ET. Finalists are UM, Miami, Oregon, Oklahoma, USC and Washington. He's taken a bunch of visits since he last visited UM but I know they had an in-home not that long ago. No idea where he's leaning.
