UNC gives up 13 in first inning to Auburn
E1: Auburn leads 13-0.

I was just about to post this. If not for a baserunner getting tagged for the third out, Auburn could have broken the single inning scoring record for an NCAA tournament game.
Auburn knocked UNC out of March Madness too. TTech did the same for us and now we rematch em in baseball where they swept us 3-0 in the season. Redemption time!
That missed extra point is going to come back to haunt Auburn.
They can make up for that with a two-conversion.
BTW you must think all of this “wow college baseball is cool I’ve never watched so much in my life” stuff is cute.
Ha, yeah. I'm trying to restrain myself from posting 5,000 words on the Michigan - Eastern Michigan baseball rivalry of the '70s and '80s. And after game 2 of the super-regional I almost wrote a post starting "if you thought that was insane, let me tell you about the 1980 College World Series game against California..."
Took me months to learn that you were a regular at Yost from before Red got the team playing well.
Honestly both of those topics you describe sound more interesting than most of the stuff we'll be getting on the board for the next two months. YMMV.
well, that should cut down on the number of calls that get challenged in this game.
Starting pitcher walked all four of the batters he faced, and it actually kinda got worse with the bullpen.
North Carolina's starter faced 4 batters, walked all 4, and only managed to throw 4 strikes among the 20 pitches he threw before he was pulled.
How does a team come back from 4 walks to start the game? Even though it's only 1 run, that's pretty ridiculous. They sent in a couple of relievers who I'm sure weren't fully warmed up, and it turned into an instant rout.
When the seventh guy in lineup has multiple first inning hits, you're going to have a good day.
Someone on twitter posted the strike/ball chart for the first 4 batters to start the game which were walks. BRUTAL. Ump was doing the UNC pitcher dirty as fuck
Can't comment on first two hitters. But I watched every pitch to the 3rd and 4th hitters and the ump did not miss one call.
I don't know how to post images on this site anymore but for the 3rd batter the chart shows the 3rd and 4th called Balls were strikes on the outside of the plate but still over the plate
I may have been watching a different game. The first 3 pitches to the 3rd hitter were all inside. Looked like the pitcher was having release point problems. The pitch 4 was a called strike and pitch 5 was fouled off. The full count pitch was very low almost in the dirt. Not a big deal. But that is what I saw in the game I was watching.
Now for one helluva creative pep talk by the UNC manager and coaching staff to try and get them back in the game!
Must...resist...urge...to...harass...Tar Heel...friends
Give in to your urges. Shit all over them.
They'll just shit on college baseball with a who cares attitude then make some Beilein jest back at you.
Some of those big early innings can result in laziness and great comebacks.
As a North Carolina native, I love this mid-day burst of schadenfreude
Did they pull that pitcher?
Damn, my 12u softball team's worst inning in 10 runs. Usually after 7-8 we say it's off the rails and just tell the girls to get an out
